About Your Trip

Spend a full day on Lake Michigan with Captain Bryce combining two of the lake’s most popular fisheries—offshore Salmon and Trout trolling followed by nearshore Yellow Perch fishing. This trip offers a great mix of techniques and species, making it a well-rounded day on the water.

The trip begins offshore, typically running 10 to 16 miles from shore, where you’ll spend the first 4 hours trolling for some of Lake Michigan’s top gamefish. Depending on
the season and conditions, you may target Salmon, Lake Trout, Steelhead (Rainbow Trout), and Brown Trout. Captain Bryce uses a variety of trolling setups to present baits at multiple depths, helping locate fish throughout the water column.

After the morning offshore session, the boat will move closer to shore to spend the remaining 4 hours targeting Yellow Perch. These fish are known for being excellent table fare and are typically caught using light tackle and jigging techniques near the bottom. When schools are active, perch fishing can offer steady opportunities and the chance to bring home fresh fish for the table.

This trip is designed for up to 4 anglers, giving everyone plenty of space and time on the rods while switching between the two styles of fishing.

You’ll be fishing aboard Captain Bryce’s 31’ Sea Ray Amberjack sportfishing vessel, equipped with the technology and amenities needed for a comfortable day on Lake Michigan. The boat features GPS, fishfinder, radar, downriggers, and an ice box for your catch, along with a private restroom, bed, kitchen area, and refrigerator.

Your charter includes rods, reels, and tackle, as well as the help of a first mate to assist with setting lines and landing fish. Catch cleaning and filleting are included, so your fish will be ready to take home at the end of the trip—just be sure to bring a cooler in your vehicle.

All anglers will need to purchase a valid Michigan fishing license before the trip, which is usually available online. Be sure to review current regulations, as some species may have seasonal limits or size requirements.

For a comfortable day on the water, bring sunglasses, bottled water, and non-spray sunscreen. Additional drinks are welcome—alcohol is allowed in moderation, but please avoid hard liquor and glass bottles while onboard.

I started fishing on the St.Joe River as soon as I could pick up a rod, my passion grew from there as I ventured out on the big lake. The first time i experienced screaming drag from a King Salmon I was hooked for life. My passion became an addiction and I am honored now to become a captain and share this addiction with the next angler.
