About Your Trip

Flood tide red fishing is the most fun and visual way to catch redfish and you can only do it for a few months of the year. You cannot beat the sight of a bright orange tail waving at you up on a beautiful grass flat in the summer. It is a 3 hour trip but if the water stays up for longer, I am usually willing to keep fishing until the water is out of the grass. Flood tides typically are a late afternoon/early evening program anywhere between 330pm-730pm. In the fall we have some morning flood tides and mid day flood tides as well. If you can throw the fly rod, this is the perfect time to use it. If you are not able to throw the fly rod, I always have a few spinning rods set up and they work very well for the flood tides as well.

We will be on my flats skiff which is able to get on the flats incredibly early and in very shallow water, meaning we will be ready for the first tailing redfish that show up. I will pole us around various flats and one person will fish at a time. This is probably the most comfortable and enjoyable type of redfishing that exists. It is also a beautiful scene as you typically get to see a nice sunset over the marsh with all of the birds and fish doing their thing.

We will typically launch at a boat ramp closest to you, although if the fishing is much better at that point in time in a specific area, I will see if it works for the guest to meet me at the boat ramp closest to those good fishing grounds.

I grew up hunting and fishing in Virginia and love doing anything outdoors. After falling in love with fly fishing, I realized the saltwater fly fishing program was my favorite as it is basically hunting fish instead of being in the woods. I spent my 4 years of college at Sewanee, The University of the South and spent all of my breaks either traveling to fish or going to Charleston, SC to dial in the waters on my skiff in hopes of guiding down here after school. Luckily, that plan worked out. I am a laid back person and I love showing people what the low country has to offer in terms of our fishing. Whether you are a beginner or an expert we will have a great time on the water and you will see some of the most beautiful waters that exist on the East Coast.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing POLARIZED sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing/RAIN jacket, and anything else you might want on the trip. Try to pack light please.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 7 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
