About Your Trip

Fly fishing in the Texas Hill Country is an experience you won't soon forget. The scenery is beautiful, and the fishing is great. Fly fishing is a sport that has been around for centuries and is enjoyed by people of all ages. It's a great way to relax and enjoy the outdoors, and it can be very rewarding.

Embark on an unforgettable 4 or 8-hour adventure in the Texas hill country with Captain Chris. He
has been fly fishing all over the country for over 30 years, so expect to get some bites! On this fly-fishing trip, you'll be targeting Largemouth Bass, Perch, Rainbow Trout, and Smallmouth Bass on the beautiful Guadalupe River.

The Guadalupe River is listed as one of the 100 top trout streams in the United States and is the southernmost trout fishery in the United States. This river is known for its abundance of Rainbow Trout, so expect to find one at the end of your line!

You'll be aboard a whitewater raft custom-designed for 2 anglers, complete with casting platforms and lean bars. These rafts are very stable and comfortable and are great for getting through shallow water. Whether you're new to fly fishing or not, Chris is eager to help.

Make sure to bring a valid Texas Fishing License, and don't forget your sunscreen! Chris will provide the rods and reels, as well as a tasty lunch. All you need to bring is yourself and a smile. Enjoy your day out on the river!

Chris is a full time fishing guide with over 30 years of fly fishing experience, taking him back to stocked ponds in northeast Texas. He caught his first trout on the fly in Colorado at age
12 while hiking the headwaters of the Rio Grande, and has been hooked every since.

Chris continues to fish and guide in Colorado throughout the summers and is always looking to share his experience with other anglers looking to fish the Texas Hill Country as well.

Chris will provide all rods, reels, tippet, and flies for your trip and only fishes the best.

As a beginner, I was nervous to go out on my first fly fishing trip, but Chris made the experience incredible! I was able to reel in 4 fish (my boyfriend reeled in another 5), including some rainbow and brown trout. However, the best part wasn't actually catching anything but learning the technique and patience that goes into fly fishing. Chris was a great instructor! Would absolutely book again or recommend to a friend!

Had a great day with Chris. Ended up with 5 rainbows, all between 12" and 18" which is a good day wherever you are. When you have that on beautiful day in the stunning Texas Hill country is it hard to beat as a fishing experience. Well worth the trip from Houston and I be back to fish the Guadalupe again before the spring.
