About Your Trip

Chase powerful, acrobatic Steelhead from late October through May, with added opportunities at Brown Trout from late October through December, on some of the most productive rivers in the region. These trips are built around adapting to conditions and giving you the best shot at trophy fish across the Salmon River, Oswego River, and select nearby tributaries.

Most trips on the Salmon River are run as drift boat (float) trips using 17’ Hyde boats that comfortably fish up to 3 anglers, with larger groups split across multiple boats. Walk-and-wade trips are also available and are a great option for anglers looking to learn how to fish the river more independently. While Steelhead are the primary focus, Brown Trout are common in the early part of the season and remain a possibility throughout.

Techniques are varied and hands-on, including centerpin float fishing, spinning gear, fly fishing, spey casting, and plug fishing. The approach is always adjusted based on water conditions, weather, and fish movement to keep you in the best possible position.

On the Oswego River, trips can include wading near the dam, fishing from the wall (no waders required), or drift boat trips. Boat trips focus on float fishing and plugging in the lower river, targeting fish holding in current seams and deeper water.

When conditions line up, there are also opportunities to fish smaller tributaries between Sandy Creek and Rochester. These trips are highly dependent on timing and conditions but can produce incredible days with shots at trophy Brown Trout, Steelhead, and Rainbow Trout. These options are typically offered as upgrades to pre-booked Steelhead trips when conditions are right.

All gear is provided except waders and a valid NYS freshwater fishing license. For colder months, boats are equipped with heaters to help keep things comfortable while you stay on the water.

You can request your preferred river when booking, and each trip is tailored to current conditions—giving you a true, season-driven Steelhead experience.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 60 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 60 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
