About Your Trip

Fish the deep, clear waters of Cayuga Lake on a hands-on trip focused on action, technique, and big fights on light tackle. Running from April through September, these trips target a mix of Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and Atlantic Salmon, with Lake Trout being the most common catch and Rainbows not far behind.

The primary approach is jigging and casting in deep water, keeping a rod in your hands and staying fully engaged
throughout the trip. These fish are aggressive and powerful—expect hard strikes and long, drag-pulling runs that make for an exciting fight every time. While trolling is available upon request, the focus is on earning your fish through active fishing rather than passive methods.

This trip is approachable for anglers of all skill levels, including kids, as long as they’re ready to hang on when a fish hits. The techniques are easy to pick up, and your guide will walk you through everything you need to know to stay involved and productive.

You’ll be fishing with the help of advanced electronics like a Humminbird Helix Mega, giving a clear picture of what’s happening below the surface and helping keep you on fish throughout the day.

All rods, reels, and tackle are provided—just bring a valid NYS freshwater fishing license, along with food, drinks, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing.

If you’re looking for a fun, fast-paced day with consistent action and hard-fighting fish, this is one of the most exciting freshwater trips around.
