Like the old saying goes: "...teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime," Captain Larry wants to do just that! Unlike so many fishing guides who hoard their honey holes and despise releasing their secrets, Captain Larry is all about sharing his birth of local fishing knowledge with fellow fishing enthusiasts. Equipped with over 35 years of experience fishing the bays and flats around Aransas Pass, Captain Larry wants to go out on your boat to show you places you are unfamiliar with. For 2-3 hours he will help you make tracks on your GPS and help you identify hazard areas and areas to avoid so you can go back in by yourself and catch fish safely without a guide!

Captain Larry is proud to run Rockport/ Aransas Pass / Port Aransas fishing charters using artificial lures and soft plastics. To him, nothing beats the rush of catching Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, and other Texas inshore species on artificial lures like topwater plugs and soft plastics.

Captain Larry will clean and fillet your catch but encourages anglers to release any Speckled Trout over 20" and any Redfish over 24". Larger fish sustain reproduction and Captain Larry is a strong conservationist.

Book a trip to explore miles of Texas inshore coastline from San Antonio Bay up north, to Baffin Bay down south. While always throwing artificial lures, Captain Larry is happy to guide your drift boat fishing or wade fishing experience. For wade fishing trips, please be sure to bring your own waders.

Captain Larry rightfully considers himself lucky to be a professional fishing guide in Texas and loves sharing his passion with others. He's a patient and educational fishing guide who's equally as carefree and easy going as he is passionate about spreading his love of fishing.

You will be responsible for your own gear. Larry will be in touch to discuss details before the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 7 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Capt. Larry is a true professional.
He quickly developed realistic expectation and promptly delivered and then some.
My two teenagers and I showed up never having done anything like this before.
Capt. Larry explained that conditions were not ideal, but we should still catch a few.
First thing took us to a proven spot, it took a little bit, but my 13-year-old daughter picked up a couple in the first 3-+- minutes. Larry knew immediately what was going on with the fish and put us all in position, we stayed pretty much in the same spot for the rest of the day and did very well. All we caught wee Redfish; we caught several in the 5.5#+ class. We had a great day.
Or second day was a good day as well, each of us caught enough fish to feel like we knew what we were doing.
Larry has a great way about him to make you feel comfortable and is very capable. We will come back again as long as we can fish with him.

This was one of the best things I ever booked. This was a surprise for my boyfriend and he had an awesome time. I came into this with very limited knowledge of fishing and left extremely confident in the fishing skills Larry had taught me. We each caught one fish, however that’s because we saw dolphins!!! I told Larry I really would like to see more dolphins and man he delivered!! Dolphins swam straight up to the boat it was amazing to see them in their natural habitat. Larry was very interested in what WE wanted to do and he was an amazing guide. I will for sure be bringing my father in law back to fish with Larry. 100% recommend!!!

We had a great time out on the water with Captain Larry! He was very knowledgeable and helpful. We wanted to find where the trout were and he got us to the places to make that happen. I had never wade-fished, but he got me comfortable and now I may never go back to fishing from a boat (and getting sea sick). Definitely will look at booking with Captain Larry again

We didn't have the best experience. Part of this is probably our fault. We were not aware that we would be hopping off the boat and wade fishing in the middle of the ocean. When I hear wade fishing I envision closer to the shore. We didn't take the right type of shoes for walking in mud/sand that you literally sink into while walking through the literal middle of the ocean. We aren't really as physically fit as we needed to be for the conditions either. I wish we had had a more in-depth description prior to our excursion. It was not enjoyable for me and not much more for my spouse. I wound up sitting on the boat for more than half of the trip because I wasn't comfortable with the conditions but we still paid full price, even though I caught nothing while I was out fishing for quite a while. We also didn't catch muchin total. Brought home 2 reds, caught 1 bass and a flounder total. I wouldn't do it again. Maybe a different type of trip, but not this one! The captain was okay, but not great. I also didn't feel very comfortable with what could have been swimming anywhere in the vicinity. The captain assured us sharks would not be near, but who knows?? I do know there are sharks in the ocean! Lol
