Head just off the South Carolina coast with Captain John for a nearshore fishing trip targeting larger species and productive offshore structure within easy reach of Charleston. These trips typically fish waters from roughly 3 to 20 miles offshore, focusing on reefs, wrecks, bait schools, and structure holding a variety of hard-fighting fish throughout the year.

Depending on conditions and seasonality, potential catches include Kingfish, Amberjack, reef species, Sharks, and other migratory coastal fish found throughout Charleston’s nearshore waters.

These trips offer a great balance between offshore fishing opportunities and manageable run times, making them a strong option for anglers looking to experience bigger water and larger fish without committing to a long offshore run.

Captain John uses his years of local experience to adapt the plan daily based on weather, water conditions, tides, and fish movement to help maximize opportunities throughout the trip.

You’ll fish aboard a fully equipped 25’ Contender center console powered by a Yamaha 300 and designed to comfortably fish up to 6 passengers. The boat features modern electronics, fishfinder and GPS technology, open deck space for fishing, and comfortable seating for the ride offshore.

All bait, tackle, rods, reels, fishing licenses, and fish cleaning are included. Guests are welcome to bring food, drinks, and alcohol onboard, provided there’s no glass.

Whether you’re trolling for Kingfish, bottom fishing reefs, or enjoying a day exploring Charleston’s nearshore waters, this trip delivers a fun and flexible South Carolina offshore experience.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel up to 1 day before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
