Don’t want to go way out in the ocean but want to still fill up the cooler and have fun 25 miles off the coast? Embark on Captain Matt's nearshore trip to fill the feezer and have a blast doing it! Destinations include artificial reefs and natural live bottom areas up to 9 miles offshore. Typical catches include black sea bass, vermillion snapper, red snapper, triggerfish, amberjack, cobia, sharks, and other species. For these trips, you'll be fishing out of Captain Matt's 30' Contender Center Console, that has a cruising speed of 33 Knots and can handle up to 4 passengers on these trips. Captain Matt will get you all set up with top-of-the-line fishing gear with spinning and conventional gear available. Launch aboard Captain TJ's fully decked out 26' Center Console for a freezer-filling fishing experience out of Charleston SC. Captain TJ will put all of his knowledge of fish habits, sea trends, and weather patterns toward getting you on these reef fish safely and in style! The boat you'll be fishing from is a 26-foot Mako 264. A true battle wagon designed for hardcore offshore fishing. She's equipped with twin 200 HP Suzuki engines, outriggers, VHF radio, Garmin radar, GPS, sonar satellite radio, bathroom, live wells, fishing boxes, sink, and top-of-the-line fishing equipment. After you get settled in, and Captain TJ cranks up his Suzuki outboard, you will motor out a couple of miles offshore to hit the reefs, wrecks, and deepwater structures for some delicious table fare that puts up a fight! On these trip, you will be using heavy tackle rods and weighted live bait or jig hooks that you'll drop down into the murky depths of the Atlantic. You can expect to hook into a variety of Snapper and Grouper species like Red Snapper, Lane Snapper, Vermillion Snapper, Red Grouper and Gag Grouper, but you never know what the murky depths of the Atlantic will produce! Fishing the reefs you can also catch an occasional Amberjack, and Cobia just to name a few, and there are plenty more species the productive waters of the Atlantic can offer up! Head out offshore for a full-day adventure aboard one of the nicest boats in Charleston Harbor. Captain Bentley's 43' Albermarle drives like a 50' Sportfish. Captain Bentley's full-day trips depart from Toler's Cove Marina at 5AM and run out around 35-55 miles out. This can take anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hour trip depending on seas. Once you're out there you will split your time between bottom fishing and trolling in 95 to 200 feet of water for King Mackerel, Amberjacks, Cobia, Sharks, Barracuda, Snapper, and Grouper, and much more.
