About Your Trip

The waters of the Chesapeake Bay out of Pasadena, Maryland are tailor-made for light tackle jigging, and Captain Eric knows exactly how to work them. This trip targets three of the Bay's most exciting and sought-after species, Striped Bass, Perch, and Catfish, using jigging techniques that keep every angler actively engaged and in the action from start to finish.

Striped Bass are the crown jewel of the Chesapeake Bay fishery and one of the most
iconic inshore game fish on the entire East Coast. Targeting them on light tackle with jigs is as thrilling as Bay fishing gets, delivering explosive strikes and hard, head-shaking runs that remind you why Rockfish have earned their legendary reputation in these waters. Perch add fast, consistent action to the mix, while Catfish bring size and muscle to keep things interesting throughout the trip.

Eric runs this trip aboard a 2018 21-foot Sea Hunt center console powered by a 150HP Yamaha outboard, giving your group of up to 6 anglers a stable, comfortable, and well-equipped platform to fish from. A Garmin GPS and fish finder keep Eric locked in on structure, bait, and fish throughout the day, and a live bait well, rod holders, tackle storage, and a 65-gallon Yeti cooler round out a setup built for a serious and productive day on the Bay.

Book your light tackle jigging trip with Captain Eric today and come find out what the Chesapeake Bay is capable of producing right out of Pasadena.

How did you get started guiding?
Born and raised in Upstate New York, Captain Eric's love of fishing started early. He began his charter fishing career as a mate on Lake Ontario charter boats, learning the ropes from experienced captains. Eric holds a four-year degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management and worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. His deep understanding of fish behavior and aquatic ecosystems sets him apart from other charter captains. After moving to Maryland, Captain Eric ran his own environmental restoration company for over 30 years, specializing in stream restoration, wetland construction, and shoreline stabilization. This work gave him an intimate knowledge of the Chesapeake Bay and its waterways. In January 2023, Eric launched Stella Charters to share his passion for fishing with others. Whether you're a seasoned angler or a first-timer, Captain Eric will work hard to put you on the fish and ensure you have an unforgettable day on the water.
What makes you different from other guides?
Since this is a retirement Job for me I enjoy teaching people new fishing techniques and also educating them on the Chesapeake Bay. My goal is to make sure you have the best experience you can on the Chesapeake Bay because it has so many great things to offer.
