About Your Trip

The Atlantic waters off Port Canaveral open up into some of Florida's most productive deep sea fishing grounds, and Captain Eric is ready to take you out there aboard a stable and spacious 29-foot catamaran built for a comfortable day offshore. Whether you opt for a half-day run to the reefs and wrecks 15 to 20 miles out or commit to a full-day or extended trip pushing 20 to 40 miles offshore, Eric puts your group on a diverse and exciting lineup of species that changes with the seasons and keeps every trip fresh.

Trolling and bottom fishing are both in play depending on the day, the conditions, and what is biting. On the troll, Kingfish, Cobia, Mahi, Sailfish, and Sharks are all realistic targets as Eric works the current edges, color changes, and offshore structure that consistently hold fish in these waters. When the anchor goes down on the reefs and wrecks, the bottom fishing takes over with Snapper, Grouper, and Triggerfish rounding out one of the most well-rounded species lists available on Florida's Atlantic Coast. Live and dead bait are both employed throughout the trip depending on what the fish are responding to, and Eric adjusts his approach in real time to keep your group in the best possible position.

The 29-foot catamaran is a particularly well-suited platform for a day like this. Its wide, stable hull handles offshore conditions with ease and gives your group plenty of deck space to fish comfortably, making it a great option for anglers who want a smooth, enjoyable ride even when the Atlantic decides to show its teeth.

Guests are encouraged to bring sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, a hat, and enough food and drinks for the duration of the trip. Sea sickness medication is strongly recommended, taken the night before and again an hour before departure. Depending on the time of year, rain or cold weather gear is worth having on hand as well.

Book your deep sea trip with Captain Eric today and find out what the Atlantic waters off Port Canaveral are truly capable of producing.

My First memories of fishing were with my Grandpa. I used to spend every summer at my grandparents’ house fishing off their dock, and it was here that I caught my first redfish. Ever since that day, my “hobby” of fishing has turned into an obsession.

When I was in college, I spent almost all of my free time fishing. At first, it just started as me fishing alone, but as more and more of my friends started to see
what I was catching, I soon started to take more and more of my friends out fishing. It was one of those same friends who planted the idea in my head about doing what I really loved and taking others fishing for a living. And as soon as I graduated college, I did! I started my business right after graduating and purchased my first boat to guide clients.

It has since been 15 years now, and even though many things have changed, many still remain the same. What remains the same is both my passion for fishing and the experience of sharing that with others. Being able to share the experience of someone either catching their first fish, biggest fish, or just having a great day on the water and showing them something new is awesome thing, and I'm very grateful to take part in that with so many of my clients.

So what has changed? The fish! When I first started my business, I mainly only fished for inshore species, but in the last decade I guess you could say that I've also gotten "slightly obsessed" with going deeper and farther offshore in search of BIGGER and BADDER fish. Because of this, the boats have also changed. Or let's just say, I've added a couple more!
