About Your Trip

Spend your winter getaway right on the ice with a heated sleeper house on legendary Lake of the Woods, known as the “Walleye Capital of the World.” These comfortable houses give you the chance to fish throughout your stay while targeting walleye, sauger, northern pike, and other seasonal species.

Sleeper houses are set up for groups of up to 4 and require a minimum of 2 guests. A plowed ice road provides access to your house, so once you're settled in, you can focus on fishing, relaxing, and enjoying the unique experience of spending the night out on the frozen lake.

Your stay includes bait, garbage bags, toilet paper, a wash tub, and wash water. Guests should bring their own sleeping bags and pillows, rods and tackle, fish finder, and cooking and dining supplies including pots, pans, cooking utensils, plates, bowls, cutlery, and paper towels. Generator and fish finder rentals are available for an additional fee, and fish cleaning is available for $2 per fish.

Whether you're planning a quick overnight trip or several days on the ice, the sleeper houses make it easy to turn a Lake of the Woods fishing trip into a full winter adventure. These rentals are family-friendly and a great fit for experienced ice anglers and first-timers alike.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Justin will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
