About Your Trip

Head to Olcott, New York and join Captain Shawn for a seasonal Lake Ontario Salmon trip! Each year, Shawn makes the trip from Lake Erie to Olcott to take advantage of the late-summer Salmon fishery, giving his anglers the opportunity to experience a completely different style of Great Lakes fishing.

These 4-hour trips focus primarily on Chinook and Coho Salmon, with Steelhead also among the potential targets. Depending on the bite, the broader fishery can
also offer opportunities for Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout, and Lake Trout.

You'll primarily troll using heavy tackle, with Shawn and his First Mate setting up the spread and adjusting presentations based on the conditions and where the fish are holding. Beginners are welcome, and Shawn will help get you comfortable with the equipment and techniques throughout the trip.

You'll fish aboard a 24' Wellcraft pilothouse powered by a 300 HP Yamaha with room for up to 3 guests. The boat is equipped with GPS, fishfinder, downriggers, and the equipment needed for trolling Lake Ontario.

Rods, reels, tackle, and lures are included, and your legal catch can be cleaned and filleted after the trip. Kids are welcome aboard, so bring your fishing license, food, drinks, sunglasses, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Choose a 5:30 AM morning departure or 1:00 PM afternoon trip and spend a half day experiencing the seasonal Salmon fishery around Olcott with Captain Shawn.
