About Your Trip

Head out on Lake Erie with Captain Jason and spend the day chasing Walleye on one of the most productive fisheries in the Great Lakes!

This trip gives you up to 6 hours to target Lake Erie's famous Walleye. Captain Jason prefers slow trolling, which keeps things sporting and gives you a much better fight once a fish takes the bait. That isn't the only way to get after them, though. Depending on conditions and
how you'd like to fish, jigging, casting, drifting, and power trolling are all on the table.

Captain Jason brings years of tournament Walleye experience to every trip and is happy to make your day as hands-on as you'd like. Jump in and help bait hooks, set lines, net fish, and work the spread, or sit back and wait for your turn when a rod goes off. Beginners are welcome, and experienced Walleye anglers will have plenty of opportunities to get involved.

You'll fish aboard Captain Jason's 19' Ranger powered by a 200HP Mercury. The boat is ideally suited for 2 anglers but can accommodate groups of up to 3.

One of the advantages of fishing with Captain Jason is his flexibility. Rather than sticking to a single launch, he fishes different areas along Pennsylvania's Lake Erie shoreline based on conditions and where the Walleye have been biting. That could have you departing from Walnut Creek, Lampe Marina, Shades Beach, or North East.

Whether you're looking to learn more about Walleye fishing, put some great-eating fish in the cooler, or simply spend a day experiencing Lake Erie, Captain Jason is ready to get you out there and on the fish!

About Your Guide

Jason H.

Independent Guide
Captain Jason is a lifelong Pennsylvania angler with more than 25 years of experience on the water. His fishing story started like it does for many anglers, chasing Bluegill and Bass around farm ponds and walking miles of trout streams before eventually graduating to bigger boats, bigger water, and competitive fishing.

After getting into tournament Walleye fishing, Captain Jason quickly found success. That experience eventually led to years of competing alongside his brother, earning multiple tournament wins and twice qualifying
for a national championship. Along the way, he developed an extensive understanding of fish behavior, changing conditions, boat control, and the little adjustments that can turn a slow day into a productive one.

As his two sons grew up, Captain Jason stepped away from the tournament scene to focus on teaching them the same love of fishing and the outdoors that he'd developed years earlier. Now, he's excited to bring that experience to his guests.

Captain Jason fishes throughout Western Pennsylvania, from Smallmouth Bass on the Allegheny River to Walleye and Lake Trout on Lake Erie and the diverse urban fishery of Pittsburgh's Three Rivers. He also has extensive experience on lakes and waterways throughout the region and is always excited to explore new water.

His approach is simple: go fishing and have fun. Beginners can expect patient, hands-on instruction, while experienced anglers are welcome to get involved in every part of the day. Whether you're learning a new body of water, chasing a new species, or simply looking for a great excuse to get outside, Captain Jason looks forward to sharing a day on the water with you.
