Twin Bridges is home to legendary waters like the Big Hole, Beaverhead, Ruby, Madison, and Jefferson Rivers. With world-class fishing, seasoned guides, and top-notch accommodations at The Stonefly Inn, this is the ultimate Montana fly fishing experience.

Rooster and his team of expert guides have spent over 15 years perfecting their craft, offering personalized trips for beginners and experienced anglers alike. Whether you opt for a guided adventure or a self-guided excursion, they’ll ensure you leave a better angler than when you arrived.

The Rivers:
- Big Hole River: Over 100 miles of freestone water, fishing well from April to November.
- Beaverhead River: A top tailwater with big browns, dry fly action, and stable flows year-round.
- Madison River: Rooster’s go-to for its incredible trout numbers and consistent summer flows.
- Jefferson River: A hidden gem formed by the confluence of the Big Hole, Beaverhead, and Ruby.
- Ruby River: A "sleeper" fishery with 40+ miles of twisting trout water and great access.

Fishing Seasons:
- Spring (April-June): Variable weather with hungry trout—pack layers, waders, and raingear.
- Summer (June-September): Hot days, cool mornings, and epic fishing. Don’t forget a light rain jacket for afternoon storms.
- Fall (September-November): Cooler weather, hopper action, and perfect wader conditions.

Lodging at The Stonefly Inn:
Stay in cozy, renovated cabins with farm-to-table meals prepared by an onsite chef. Enjoy a screened porch, outdoor fireplace, and access to the fly shop for any gear needs. The all-inclusive package includes lodging, meals, guided fishing, flies, rods, reels, and tackle.

Montana Fishing License:
A conservation and fishing license is required. Purchase online before your trip for faster access to the water.

Captain Dan and his crew have two options for your stay in Twin Bridges, Montana. We have the tried and true Stonefly Inn, located on the main street of Twin Bridges, as well as the exclusive Stonefly Lodge, located five miles out of town on the Big Hole River.

Remotely located off the beaten trail in Twin Bridges, Montana, these waters are largely protected from the fishing pressure some of the other areas of the state contend with. In Twin Bridges, you can truly unwind and enjoy your Montana fly fishing vacation along with the solitude and vastness of Southwest Montana. The days are longer, the fish are bigger, and the beer is colder.

Waders and wading boots, hat, sunscreen,polarized sunglasses. Lunch, rods, reels, and tackle are provided. Flies can be provided for a fee.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Rooster will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.

After booking your trip, we'll connect you directly with your guide to discuss additional details. In the meantime, our team is here to answer any questions via email, text, or phone.
