About Your Trip

If you are ready for a true bucket-list offshore adventure, this 3-night overnight fishing experience out of Quepos, Costa Rica with Captain Brook delivers some of the most exciting pelagic action found anywhere in the world. Set along Costa Rica's legendary Pacific coastline, Quepos is a premier gateway to deep blue water just miles from shore, where massive game fish patrol rich currents, bait schools, and offshore structure year-round. With volcanic coastline to one side and endless Pacific bluewater to the other, this is the kind of place where every horizon scan feels like it could lead to the next big bite.

This extended overnight format gives you something that traditional day trips simply cannot match: time on the water and flexibility. With multiple days to fish, you are able to follow the bite, adjust to changing ocean conditions, and stay dialed into productive zones instead of rushing back to port. Captain Brook uses this flexibility to maximize every opportunity, tracking temperature breaks, bird activity, floating debris lines, and current edges where predators actively feed. That ability to stay mobile and respond to real-time conditions is often what separates a good day from a truly exceptional one.

Each day offshore brings the chance to target some of the most iconic sport fish in the Pacific. Depending on conditions and seasonal movement, you will be trolling and working spreads for Marlin and Sailfish, both known for explosive strikes, acrobatic fights, and unforgettable surface action that can erupt right behind the boat. You will also be targeting hard-charging Yellowfin Tuna, often found pushing bait balls and creating fast-paced, high-energy bites that test both endurance and reflexes. Dorado, also known as Mahi Mahi, are another key species in these waters, frequently showing up around floating debris and weed lines with bright colors, rapid growth, and aggressive feeding behavior that turns every hookup into a visual spectacle.

Fishing techniques vary throughout the trip to match conditions and species behavior. Expect a mix of offshore trolling with rigged baits and teasers, live bait presentations when available, and casting opportunities into surface feeding frenzies when tuna or dorado push bait into a boil. When Marlin or Sailfish are in the spread, the action can shift instantly from calm anticipation to chaos, with long runs, jumps, and line peeling off the reel in explosive bursts. Captain Brook's offshore experience in Costa Rica's Pacific waters helps ensure that lines are in the water at the right time and place, whether you are targeting billfish in deep blue water or working fast-moving schools near the surface.

Between fishing sessions, you will experience the rhythm of offshore life, with open ocean horizons during the day and peaceful evenings surrounded by calm waters and stunning tropical sunsets. Nights at sea offer time to reset, enjoy the stillness of the Pacific, share stories from the day's action, and prepare for early morning runs back into productive fishing grounds when the bite often turns back on. The extended format also allows for a deeper connection to the ocean itself, where wildlife sightings, shifting weather patterns, and the steady pulse of the sea become part of the experience.

This is an ideal trip for anglers who want more than a single-day experience and are looking to fully immerse themselves in one of the world's top offshore fisheries. With Captain Brook leading the way, this Quepos overnight adventure offers extended time on the bite, world-class species, and the kind of fishing memories that stay with you long after you return to shore.
