Costa Rica is home to some of the world’s premier billfishing, and the epicenter of this storied fishery is the seaside town of Quepos. Adjacent to Manuel Antonio National Park, Quepos is the destination for anglers from around the world who want to pursue every species of Marlin, as well as Sailfish, Dorado (Mahi Mahi) and Yellowfin Tuna. If you’re into big game fish, there's no better place. With the fertile currents of the Pacific Ocean passing right along the coast of Costa Rica, we have what many would say are the best Sailfishing grounds any where in the world. Captain Tyler is an expert in putting you right on top of these magnificent fish, giving you the best possible chance to hook up with a personal best!

Captain Tyler utilizes a range of techniques to bring in the big ones. Expect to troll extensively while hunting for aggressive predators such as Marlin and Sailfish, and once your fish is hooked, get ready to to play him with big rods and heavy tackle.

You'll leave the dock in the evening between 6:00 and 10:00 PM, and steam out all night to the fishing grounds. Wake up bright and early the next morning, and fish your heart out until sundown, when you'll turn back towards shore. By breakfast time the next day, you'll be back on the dock in Quepos with a lot of stories, great pictures, and likely some incredible eating fish as well.

You'll be heading out in Captain Tyler's 46' Guthrie sportfisher. She is the last wood hull boat Guthrie ever built and is one of the best fish raising boats anywhere. She is powered by a Detroit 8V92 and cruises at 20 knots. In addition, she has a Full A/C cabin, full Bathroom, Kitchen, and two Staterooms. When the fish start biting, she features full Garmin and Raymarine electronics, Rupp Outriggers, Tuna Tubes, a Live Well and pulls double dredges.

Captain Tyler will provide all the necessary gear, including rods, tackle, and bait. To maximize your experience on the water, bring along a pair of Polarized Sunglasses, Weather-appropriate Clothing, Sunscreen, and your Fishing License. Have a blast!
