About Your Trip

If you're looking for the ultimate Southern California offshore fishing experience, join Captain Anton for an incredible multi-day adventure targeting some of the most prestigious game fish swimming in the Pacific Ocean. This trip is designed for serious anglers who want more than a quick day on the water. With two full days of fishing and two nights offshore, you'll have the time, range, and flexibility to pursue trophy fish while experiencing the magic of life far beyond the coastline.

The waters between Dana Point and Catalina Island are among the most productive and dynamic fisheries on the West Coast. Fueled by nutrient-rich currents and abundant baitfish, this region regularly attracts an impressive lineup of pelagic predators. Captain Anton has spent years learning these waters and understanding the seasonal movements of the fish that call them home. His expertise allows him to consistently put anglers in position for memorable catches and unforgettable battles.

Depending on the season and conditions, you'll have opportunities to target Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Giant Bluefin Tuna, and even Striped Marlin. Few fishing experiences compare to the adrenaline rush of hearing a reel scream as a giant tuna peels line off the spool or watching a marlin explode on a bait at the surface. These are the moments anglers dream about, and this trip is built to maximize your chances of experiencing them firsthand.

The extended format also allows Captain Anton to remain flexible and fish multiple bites throughout the trip. Rather than racing back to the dock, you'll be able to stay on productive schools, adjust to changing conditions, and take advantage of early morning, midday, evening, and overnight feeding windows. In addition to the offshore pelagics, anglers may encounter species such as Yellowtail, Barracuda, Rockfish, and other seasonal favorites depending on where the fish are holding.

Beyond the fishing, spending multiple nights offshore is an adventure all its own. Watching the sun set over the Pacific, enjoying the quiet of the open ocean, and looking up at a sky filled with stars far from city lights creates an experience that few people ever get to enjoy. These moments are just as memorable as the fish you'll catch.

You'll be fishing aboard Captain Anton's 36' Blackman sportfisher, a vessel perfectly equipped for extended offshore expeditions. The boat features advanced Furuno side-scanning sonar, a depthfinder, large bait capacity, refrigerated fish hold, comfortable bunks, a full onboard bathroom, and a kitchen complete with a Keurig coffee maker. The spacious deck provides plenty of room for anglers to move around and battle hard-fighting fish comfortably.

Captain Anton provides all rods, reels, tackle, bait, and fishing equipment needed for a successful trip. All you need to bring is your California fishing license, weather-appropriate clothing, personal items, and a sense of adventure.

Whether you're chasing a personal-record tuna, hoping to land your first marlin, or simply looking to experience one of California's premier offshore fisheries, this multi-day expedition offers the opportunity to create memories that will last a lifetime. Join Captain Anton and discover what makes these Pacific waters a world-class destination for offshore anglers.

Anton's favorite thing about running charters is all the great people he gets to meet and make lifelong memories with! The techniques he uses are constantly changing, every year or even every day. On his trips, he catches everything from Rockcod to big Bluefin
Tuna, but by far his favorite fishing is for his bread-and-butter fish, the California Yellowtail.

What do you want for Christmas this year?

How did you get started guiding?
I actually started out commercial fishing, then I got hired at the bait barge here in Dana Point. Noticed I was selling bait to all these charter boats that I knew I could be better than them so I decided to go and get my Captain license and start charters as basically my "college", 18 years old.
What makes you different from other guides?
I believe what makes me different than other operations is we have fun. I think too many charter captains try to act "hard" and never really give the passengers time to feel comfortable. We want to become friends with all our clients and make life long relationships. Hence why I have so many regulars. I enjoy people, good conservations, and killing fish.
