Get ready for an unforgettable fishing adventure with Captain Art! Whether you're a seasoned angler or new to the sport, Captain Art is dedicated to tailoring your trip to fit your fishing goals. With trips ranging from 5 to 10 hours, you’ll have plenty of time to reel in some of the best catches these waters offer. Depending on the season and weather, you'll be trolling for a variety of species, including Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Lake Trout, and Salmon. Just let Captain Art know what you're after, and he’ll craft the perfect fishing game plan for you!

Depending on the trip and target species, you could be sticking closer to shore, fishing in depths of about 60 feet. or you might venture further offshore into waters as deep as 450 feet. No matter where you go, the excitement of the chase and the thrill of the fight are always on deck.

Your trip will take place aboard Captain Art's spacious 32’ Carver boat, which comfortably accommodates up to 6 anglers. This classic vessel is equipped with all the essentials to ensure a smooth and enjoyable day on the water. There’s a toilet for convenience, an ice box to keep your drinks and catch cool, and all the fishing gear you’ll need is included in the price of your trip. Plus, with a friendly and knowledgeable first mate on board, you'll have all the help you need to land that dream catch. Just remember to bring along a valid fishing license, and the first mate works for tips, so any gratuity is greatly appreciated!

You can also keep any legal catches you reel in—so not only will you have an exciting day of fishing, but you may also leave with some fresh fillets for dinner.

Captain Art was born and raised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, where his passion for fishing Lake Michigan started at an early age. Some of his fondest memories are fishing trips with his father, a local boat mechanic, and that love for the water never left him—even after spending time away in Colorado. Now back where he belongs, Art shares that lifelong connection to the lake with every guest who steps aboard.

Alongside him is his wife Krystal, who also holds a captain’s license and often joins as first mate, making it a true family-run operation. Their love for fishing has been passed down through generations, and even their black lab, Saylor, is part of the crew—available to join trips upon request.

You’ll fish aboard a clean, well-maintained 37' Silverton, built for both comfort and performance. With a spacious enclosed cabin, bathroom, galley, and covered flybridge, it's a smooth, welcoming ride for up to six guests.

Everything Else to Know

All rods, reels, and tackle are included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and any gear of your own you want to use on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 7 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
