About Your Trip

Get ready to experience the best of Ozark trout fishing with Captain Gray and his team, who are lucky enough to call the White and Norfork Rivers their home waters! Whether you’re a seasoned fly angler or brand-new to the sport, this outfitter is all about delivering a top-notch, educational fishing adventure in one of the most scenic spots in the country. With trips available day or night, they’re one of the few outfitters in the area that offers night trips year-round, giving you the chance to chase trout under the stars or in the full light of day.

Captain Gray’s team is dedicated to helping anglers of all skill levels meet their fishing goals. If you’re looking to improve your technique, they’ll coach you on everything from casting and fly presentation to fly selection and entomology. Their guides bring extensive knowledge, modern teaching methods, and a genuine passion for helping you become a better angler. They believe fly fishing should be enjoyed by everyone, so if you’re just getting started, they’ll make sure you learn the basics in a way that’s easy, approachable, and fun. And for seasoned anglers, they’re ready to put their skills to the test on these world-class trout rivers.

Trip Options:
Full Day (8 Hours)
The full-day trip gives you a full 8 hours on the water, generally from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, though timing may shift based on generation schedules. Captain Gray’s team can cater the day to your preferred style of fishing, whether you’re looking to cast big streamers for trophy browns or focus on dry flies when conditions allow. Lunch is included on this trip, usually a classic sandwich and chips, but feel free to reach out if you have specific preferences.

3/4 Day (6 Hours)
The 3/4 day trip offers 6 hours on the water—perfect for those who want a bit more than a half-day experience without committing to a full eight hours. This trip doesn’t include lunch, but snacks and drinks are provided, and it’s a great choice for anglers who want a solid chunk of fishing time while keeping the day flexible.

Half Day (4 Hours)
Ideal for beginners or anyone looking to fit some fishing into a packed schedule, the half-day trip is 4 hours on the water. Choose from an AM or PM start, or opt for an afternoon trip specifically targeting dry flies during seasonal hatches. This shorter trip is an excellent way to learn the basics of fly casting, fish handling, and more, with plenty of hands-on instruction.

What’s Included
Captain Gray and his team have you covered with all the gear you’ll need, including rods, reels, flies, and other terminal tackle. If you prefer to use your own equipment, feel free to bring it along. Each boat is stocked with water, Gatorade, sodas, and snacks, and you’re welcome to bring along any additional refreshments (just no glass containers, please!). On full-day trips, a hearty lunch is provided, and the team is happy to discuss alternative options if you have dietary preferences.

Boats and Equipment
With a fleet of jet boats, drift boats, and rafts, Captain Gray’s outfit is ready to adapt to whatever the river conditions throw your way. Depending on water levels and generation schedules, your guide will choose the best vessel to ensure a productive day on the river. While jets are popular, sometimes a drift boat or raft is the optimal choice for the conditions, so the boat selection is ultimately at the guide’s discretion. If you have a strong preference for a specific type of boat—especially jets—just let them know, and they’ll do their best to accommodate.

Before heading out, make sure everyone in your group age 12 and up has a valid fishing license, which you can easily purchase online at FWP's website. And don’t forget to dress for the weather! Layers, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a cooler with ice (if you’re planning to take home your catch) will help you stay comfortable and prepared.

With their commitment to teaching, beautiful scenery, and some of the best trout fishing the Ozarks has to offer, Captain Gray and his crew are here to make your White River adventure unforgettable. Whether you’re aiming to land a trophy or just looking to relax and learn the ropes, they’ll ensure you have a trip that’s as rewarding as it is fun. Come see why these legendary rivers are a bucket-list destination for anglers everywhere!
