About Your Trip

Prepare yourself for an amazing day on the water with Captain Troy, a Galveston Bay fishing expert with a lifetime of experience. As a third-generation saltwater sportsman, Captain Troy has been fishing these waters since he was a kid, giving him the local knowledge and expertise to put you on the fish. Licensed by both the USCG and TPWD, and with a background as a Registered Nurse, Paramedic, and Firefighter, Captain Troy takes safety seriously—you’ll be in the best of hands while you’re out chasing big fish.

Your trip will take place aboard his 21-foot Nautic Star, powered by a 150hp Yamaha outboard that’s perfectly suited for the variety of waters in the Galveston Bay complex. This boat can handle it all, from the open bay to the jetty and back into the shallow flats. With a maximum of four anglers per trip, Captain Troy ensures that everyone gets personalized attention and the best chance at hooking up with the fish of a lifetime.

Captain Troy provides everything you need to make your fishing day a success, including top-quality Lew’s light tackle spinning rods and reels that can handle even the biggest bull reds. All tackle and bait are included, so you can focus on enjoying the thrill of reeling in Galveston’s most exciting species: speckled trout, redfish, flounder, bull redfish, sharks, and sheepshead. From the finesse of targeting trout to the power of battling a bull red or shark, Captain Troy will guide you through each technique to match the conditions and your goals.

To get ready for your trip, make sure to bring a Texas saltwater fishing license, which you can easily purchase through Texas License Connection. Also pack any snacks and drinks you’d like—Captain Troy has a cooler on board to keep everything cold, though glass bottles aren’t allowed.

With Captain Troy, you’re in for more than just a fishing trip; you’re joining a true Gulf Coast adventure led by a professional who combines skill, safety, and a deep love for these waters. Grab your fishing license, sunscreen, and a sense of adventure, and get ready to experience the best of Galveston Bay fishing!
