If you're not into quick limits and heading back to the dock, this trip is for you. Designed specifically to target big Walleye, Captain Don’s Trophy Trip is a 6-8 hour adventure focused on landing the fish of a lifetime. With years of tournament experience and an unrelenting drive to chase monster Walleye, Captain Don will stop at nothing to put you on the bite. From November through June, the chance at a true trophy is real.

On this trip, you’ll fish using trolling techniques with top-of-the-line equipment, but you can choose how hands-on you want to be. Captain Don can teach you the ins and outs of setting rods and running trolling spreads, or you can sit back, relax, and let him handle it all until it’s time to reel. For anglers visiting in April, jigging is the name of the game, and in June and July, casting trips are a great option to switch up the action. Whatever the season, Captain Don can adapt to what’s working best to help you get the most out of your trip.

You’ll fish aboard a 21’ Warrior, a high-performance vessel built for serious anglers. Outfitted with cutting-edge electronics, premium rods, reels, tackle, lures, and live bait, this boat offers everything needed for a top-tier fishing experience. With room for up to 4 passengers, it’s perfect for a solo mission, a trip with friends, or a family outing. Planning to bring kids along? They’re more than welcome! For those looking for a shorter outing, Captain Don also offers 4-hour charters where you’ll target Walleye and typically limit out within the allotted time.

My name is Don Lint. I reside in North Lawrence ,Ohio. I joined the Navy out of high school. In the Navy I was a hydraulics mechanic on F/A18 hornets. From there I ended up in a steel mill for the last 30 years. I’m retiring in March of 2025. My love for the outdoors has always been a big part of my life. I spent some years filming and bow hunting for a group here in Ohio. Hung up my bow for the addiction called Lake Erie walleye in 2005. It’s been a great run from tournament fishing to guiding in the last 8 years. I needed to keep working after I retire what better job in the world than taking people fishing for walleye at the walleye capital of the world. I’ve had a few different boats over the years but I settled on a Warrior2121 best decision for a smaller charter boat. It’s a 2019 equipped with all the latest lowrance electronics and powered by a 250 Suzuki outboard also a 9.9 kicker motor and a minnkota terrova. What can you expect on a charter with me??? The big thing I’ll tell you is we will have a great time catching fish and spending the day on the water. I’m not real big on rushing you from dock to limit back to dock. We can take our time enjoy the day. I travel my boat from port to port throughout the year following the walleye migration. The biggest areas we will fish are from Huron to Cleveland. I can travel anywhere you would like to go out of. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting you.

I’ve always taken my friends and family fishing. It just kinda happened. I’ve always caught fish no matter where I’ve fished. Just naturally I guess

What makes you different from other guides?

No one out there will work harder to make sure we get our fish and have a good time. I don’t run you back to the dock in a hour if we have our limit. That to me is not what a fishing trip is.

Before your trip, be sure to grab a local fishing license and bring along snacks, drinks, sunscreen, and a cooler for your catch. Captain Don will handle the rest

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
