About Your Trip

Venture deep into the backcountry waters of Everglades National Park with Captain Donnie, a third-generation fishing guide born and raised in Islamorada. This 4- or 6-hour shallow-water adventure is perfect for anglers of all skill levels looking to experience the raw beauty and incredible fishing of the Florida Keys. With only two anglers per trip, you’ll have a personalized experience as you stalk some of the most sought-after inshore species in these pristine waters.

This
is a true catch-and-release trip, focused on light tackle fishing for hard-fighting species like Snook, Redfish, Mangrove Snapper, Speckled Trout, and small Tarpon. Whether you’re working an artificial lure along the mangroves, tossing live bait near the channels, or watching a Tarpon explode on a topwater plug, every cast is an opportunity for an unforgettable moment.

Captain Donnie’s 19’ skiff is built for navigating these skinny waters, allowing you to reach hidden honey holes where bigger boats can’t go. The boat is kid-friendly, and if you want to set the vibe, feel free to connect to the Bluetooth sound system and play your favorite music. Live bait is included, and if the weather forces a cancellation, you won’t lose your deposit.

Independent Guide
Born and raised in the heart of Islamorada, Captain Donnie is a proud third-generation fishing guide carrying on a family legacy that runs deep in the Florida Keys. Sharing the business with his father, Captain Ted, Donnie continues a tradition built on passion, expertise, and a love for these legendary waters. Together, they cover the island chain from Key Largo to Marathon, and even the remote backcountry of Everglades National Park—offering unforgettable days on the water for anglers of all skill levels.

Captain Donnie got an early start—hooking his first fish at the age of three and never looking back. By 15, he had his first boat and was already mastering the art of poling the flats, learning firsthand from some of the Keys’ most seasoned guides. Now with over a decade as a licensed captain under his belt, Donnie brings a refined knowledge of the Florida Bay, its tides, and the fish that call it home.

Whether you're after tarpon, redfish, snook, shark, trout, or bonefish, Captain Donnie tailors each trip to your goals. He’s just as enthusiastic about helping kids land their very first catch as he is about chasing trophies with experienced anglers. Donnie’s easygoing nature and clear instruction make every trip feel fun, stress-free, and full of discovery.

With a guiding philosophy rooted in conservation and respect for the environment, you’ll not only leave with great memories—you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the unique ecosystem that makes the Keys so special. As Donnie puts it, “I live for the joy and excitement I see in my clients’ faces when they catch that one fish they’ll remember for a lifetime.”

Get ready to fish the Florida Keys like a local—with a captain who’s spent his life exploring every inch of it.
