About Your Trip

Fly fishing for trophy Rainbow Trout in the Columbia Basin is an experience like no other. This remote and under-the-radar fishery is home to a healthy trout population, making it an excellent spot to test your skills against hard-fighting rainbows in a stunning wilderness setting. These fish can grow to impressive sizes, offering an exciting challenge for anglers of all experience levels.

Before your trip, be sure to purchase a Washington fishing license. When it
comes to food and drinks, please bring lunch, snacks, and any specialty drinks unless we’ve made other arrangements. Hydration is key, so I’ll have plenty of water for everyone on board. Breakfast is an important start to the day, so eat before you arrive or bring something to enjoy on the boat.

Weather conditions in the Columbia Basin can change quickly, so dressing in layers is essential. Always bring a rain jacket, even if the forecast looks clear. Cotton is best avoided unless it’s a hot, sunny July day, and sunscreen is a must for warmer outings. If we’re fishing from a raft, pack light as space is limited. On the powerboat, there’s plenty of room for extra gear. Keep in mind that cleats and metal studs are not allowed on any of our boats—felt or rubber soles only.

Fly fishing is my passion, and I love sharing it with others. I’ll go over all the gear and techniques we’ll be using throughout the day. Whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned angler, being open to learning new methods can make for an even more successful day on the water. These techniques are easy to pick up, and I often teach people who are completely new to fishing. Feel free to ask questions at any time—I want to make sure you have the best experience possible.

Get ready for an unforgettable day chasing Rainbow Trout in one of Washington’s best-kept fishing secrets!
