About Your Trip

Head out for an unforgettable salmon fishing adventure with Captain Jason on Oregon’s famed Siuslaw and Umpqua Rivers! From July 1st through mid-October, you’ll be targeting the mighty Chinook (King) and Coho Salmon, known for their strength and incredible fights. These trips are all about trolling—one of the most effective methods for hooking into these hard-fighting fish.

Early in the season, you’ll be fishing the lower stretches of the Siuslaw near Florence or the Umpqua
near Reedsport, covering productive waters where salmon stage before their upriver migration. As the fall rains arrive, the fishing shifts upriver, and tactics change to include back bouncing, back trolling, and float fishing to entice aggressive salmon in the current. The season runs all the way through November, giving you plenty of time to chase the fish of a lifetime!

You’ll be fishing aboard Captain Jason’s 22’ Koffler boat, a top-tier aluminum vessel built for serious fishing. Outfitted with everything needed for a successful day on the water, this boat provides a stable and comfortable ride, whether you're trolling in the bays or navigating upriver.

Captain Jason provides all rods, reels, and tackle, so all you need to bring are your fishing license, weather-appropriate clothing, snacks, and drinks. As salmon season stretches into fall, conditions can change, so layering up with rain gear is always a good call.

At the end of the day, Captain Jason will clean and prep your catch, ensuring you take home fresh salmon fillets ready for the grill. Don’t miss your chance to experience Oregon’s legendary salmon run—book your trip today and get ready for an action-packed day on the water!
