About Your Trip

Spend the day fishing the scenic Manistee River with Captain Derek, targeting hard-fighting Salmon, Steelhead, and Brown Trout. Whether you're an experienced angler or brand new to the sport, this trip is designed to give you a great experience on the water. The Manistee River is known for its incredible seasonal runs of Chinook and Coho Salmon, as well as year-round opportunities for Steelhead and Brown Trout. With 6-8 hours on the river, you’ll have plenty of time to dial in your technique and put fish in the boat.

Captain Derek specializes in light tackle river fishing, giving you the chance to fight these powerful fish up close. Depending on the time of year and fish activity, you could be casting, drifting, or using other proven techniques to get bites. No matter the method, Captain Derek works hard to put you on fish while making sure you have a fun and enjoyable day on the water.

Everything you need for the trip is provided, including high-quality rods, reels, tackle, and lures. If live bait is required, it will also be supplied. At the end of the day, Captain Derek will clean and fillet your catch at no extra cost, so you can take home fresh fish ready for the table.

Be sure to bring weather-appropriate clothing, as conditions on the river can change throughout the day. A waterproof jacket and pants are always a good idea to stay comfortable. Don’t forget polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, and any snacks or drinks you’d like for the trip.

With stunning scenery, top-notch fishing, and a dedicated guide, this trip is a great way to experience the Manistee River and its incredible fishery. Whether you're chasing big Salmon, acrobatic Steelhead, or beautiful Brown Trout, Captain Derek is ready to help make it a memorable day on the water.
