About Your Trip

Get ready to kick off your day with a classic Cape Cod flounder trip alongside Captain John! Running from May 1 through September 21, this 4-hour inshore adventure is the perfect way to enjoy a laid-back morning on the water while targeting one of the Northeast’s most delicious bottom dwellers—Flounder. Whether you're an early riser or looking to sleep in, Captain John offers both morning (7:00 AM) and afternoon (12:00 PM) departures to fit your schedule.

The past two seasons have delivered excellent Flounder action, and 2024 is shaping up to be another stellar year. This trip is all about relaxed, productive fishing in protected inshore waters, making it a great fit for anglers of all ages and skill levels. Captain John provides everything you need for a successful outing, including bait, tackle, and custom Flounder rigs. Want to bring your favorite rod along? Go for it—you’re welcome to use your own gear if you prefer.

You’ll be fishing aboard a spacious and stable 31’ cruiser, powered by a 370 HP Cummins Diesel engine. With room for up to 5 anglers (6 total guests including observers), it’s an ideal outing for families, small groups, or anyone looking to squeeze in a few hours of fishing while visiting the Cape. And if you’re hoping for a longer session or need a different start time, just ask—Captain John is happy to work around your travel plans.

This trip focuses on bottom fishing, with the option for Flounder gigging if conditions allow. The mate will be on hand to help throughout the trip and will gladly clean any legal-sized fish you keep, so you can head home with dinner in hand.

As always, be sure to bring along snacks, drinks, and sun protection. Beer and wine are welcome in moderation.

With Captain John’s deep local knowledge and a boatload of experience under his belt, this Flounder trip offers the perfect blend of Cape Cod charm, smooth cruising, and fresh fish for the cooler. Whether it’s your first time on the water or your annual Cape tradition, come see why Flounder fishing with Captain John is a fan favorite season after season!
