About Your Trip

Get ready to chase down a true wall-hanger with Captain Michael on beautiful Lake Texoma—just a short drive from both Dallas-Fort Worth and Oklahoma City. Known as the Striped Bass Capital of the World, this lake is home to some of the biggest freshwater stripers in the country, and Captain Michael is here to help you hook into the kind of trophy fish that make fishing legends.

Launching out of Catfish Bay Marina in Kingston,
Oklahoma, you’ll climb aboard a top-of-the-line 25’ Blazer Bay 2440 center console, a boat built for comfort, speed, and serious fish-chasing. With plenty of room to stretch out and premium equipment from bow to stern, this fishing machine is ideal for trolling the open waters in pursuit of monster striper.

But make no mistake—this isn’t your average “fill the cooler” kind of trip. Captain Michael’s motto is “We don’t fish for smalls,” and he means it. While most guides target the schools of smaller, sub-20" fish, Captain Michael is laser-focused on hunting down the true trophy-class striped bass—30-inch-plus giants that crush baits and peel drag. Last year alone, he put clients on over twenty stripers longer than 30 inches, with the biggest topping 36 inches. And that’s just the start—hundreds more were caught in the high-20" range.

Captain Michael trolls year-round with big baits designed to attract big bites—think swimbaits that are nearly a foot long! This technique filters out the little guys and keeps your lines in the strike zone for serious fish. Expect some slower moments between hits, but when that rod doubles over, you’ll know why you came. And if you’re truly after that once-in-a-lifetime catch, Captain Michael recommends booking a weekday when boat traffic is lighter and the fish are more aggressive—mornings in the cooler months, evenings during summer.

And if the action heats up and you limit out on big fish early? Captain Michael doesn’t just pack it in. You’ll keep hunting “mediums,” or if a school blows up on the surface, you might switch gears and do some topwater casting for active stripers or white bass. Every trip is tailored to give you the best chance at landing a trophy while still enjoying a full day on the water.

Want to add a little variety? For an additional cost, Captain Michael also offers catfish jug line fishing, giving you another exciting way to bend a rod and fill the cooler.

Your trip includes everything you need to fish: rods, reels, tackle, and bait. Captain Michael will also clean and bag your keepers, and if you land a trophy, he’ll take professional measurements for a reproduction mount or help you coordinate with a local taxidermist for a traditional skin mount.

All you need to bring is your favorite drinks and snacks, some sun protection, and a $14 Lake Texoma fishing permit—Captain Michael takes care of the rest.

If you’re looking for a serious shot at a world-class striper, skip the schools and go trophy hunting with Captain Michael. Let’s go get that monster.

Hop aboard with Michael for a trophy Striper hunt on Lake Texoma like no other. These trips are all about chasing size—not numbers. Michael trolls big baits for big fish, targeting Striped Bass 30 inches and up. With baits this large, anything under 16" is rare, and the goal is simple: get each angler two keepers over 20"—and maybe even a once-in-a-lifetime trophy.

Trolling is laid-back and scenic until the rod slams down—then it’s game on. You’ll fish with top-quality
gear, all provided, and Michael will clean and bag your catch at the end of the trip. Land a monster? He’ll take perfect measurements for a replica mount or connect you with a local taxidermist for the real deal.

Michael runs small groups year-round, often on low-traffic weekdays when the biggest fish come out to play. He doesn’t chase schools of little ones—no filler fish here. If you limit out early, he’ll keep you on the water targeting solid “mediums” or throwing topwater if the fish start busting.

If you’re serious about landing a Texoma trophy, this is the trip for you.
