About Your Trip

If you're ready for the ultimate offshore adventure, Captain Frank’s 18-Hour Offshore AM Trip aboard his 44’ Contender is built for serious anglers who want to go big. Departing from Clarks Landing Marina in Point Pleasant, NJ, this extended trip is ideal for up to 6 anglers looking to cover serious ground and target some of the most sought-after deepwater species the Atlantic has to offer.

With over 15 years of experience fishing from New
Jersey to Florida, Captain Frank has the offshore game dialed in. His 44’ Contender is a tournament-grade machine, fully outfitted with top-tier electronics, gear, and all the horsepower you need to get to the edge fast and comfortably. This trip gives you the range and flexibility to chase the hot bite—whether that’s trolling for tuna, deep dropping for tasty tilefish, or working light tackle for high-flying mahi.

Tuna trolling is often the main event on these runs, especially when schools of Yellowfin or Bluefin are stacked up along temperature breaks and bait lines. Captain Frank will set the spread and fine-tune the approach to match the bite, pulling everything from ballyhoo and squid chains to spreader bars to draw strikes. These fish hit hard and fight harder—expect long runs, bent rods, and a serious adrenaline rush.

If deepwater action is more your speed, you can shift gears and deep drop for tilefish over deep ledges and bottom structure. Using electric reels or heavy-duty setups, you'll target Golden and Blueline Tilefish—both prized for their excellent eating quality. It’s a slower-paced but rewarding method, perfect for anglers who enjoy the challenge of precision fishing hundreds of feet down.

And when conditions allow, you’ll have the option to switch over to light tackle mahi fishing. These brightly colored fish are incredibly fun to catch, often found around floating debris or weed lines. Mahi hit hard, leap often, and are a blast to target with lighter gear—plus, they’re one of the best fish you can bring home to the grill.

Captain Frank will build the day around what’s biting best, the weather, and your goals as a group. His experience, attention to detail, and dedication to putting clients on fish make him one of the most trusted offshore captains in the region. With the 44’ Contender as your platform, you’ll have the space, speed, and stability to fish hard and stay comfortable while doing it.

Make sure to come well prepared for a long day offshore. Bring weather-appropriate clothing, including rain gear and a jacket if the forecast calls for cooler conditions, especially in the early morning or later in the season. Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a camera will all come in handy, and be sure to pack plenty of food and drinks to stay fueled up throughout the trip. Bring a cooler for your cleaned catch—but leave it in your vehicle until the trip ends.

As always, no hard liquor or drugs are permitted on board. Beer is allowed in moderation, but intoxicated behavior will end the trip early. Firearms and knives are also not allowed. Please treat the boat and gear with care—any damage due to negligence may result in additional charges. A 15–20% tip for the mate is customary and very much appreciated for the effort and service provided throughout the day.

Cancellations made with at least one week’s notice are eligible for rescheduling. If a new date can't be found this season, your deposit will carry over to next year. Cancellations with less than one week’s notice will result in forfeiture of the deposit.

This 18-hour offshore experience is the definition of a deep-sea fishing mission—long range, full throttle, and packed with opportunity. Whether it’s tuna on the troll, tilefish in the depths, or mahi on the run, Captain Frank is ready to take you there.
