About Your Trip

Join Captain Gerry for a local fishing adventure out of the Long Beach or Huntington Beach area, where his number one priority is simple: you, the angler. With a straightforward, hardworking approach and a deep commitment to giving every guest a great experience, Captain Gerry makes it his mission to put you on the fish and make sure you’re having a good time doing it.

Whether you're booking a 4-hour half-day trip or extending to
a 6-hour 3/4 day, you'll be targeting popular Southern California species like Calico Bass, Sand Bass, Yellowtail, White Seabass, and Halibut. These local waters are known for their productivity, and Captain Gerry’s knowledge of the area gives you the best shot at a successful day on the water.

You’ll be fishing aboard a high-powered vessel designed to get you to the fish quickly and maximize your time casting lines, not cruising. The boat is equipped with Lowrance GPS and Fishfinder systems, a wireless trolling motor, and a live bait well (bait is available for an additional $35). There’s also an ice box onboard to keep your drinks and any fish you keep chilled throughout the trip.

Gear-wise, Captain Gerry outfits his trips with top-of-the-line Daiwa tackle, including spinning, casting, and conventional setups to match your fishing style. Light tackle is the name of the game here, perfect for inshore and nearshore action, and ideal whether you're new to fishing or looking for a fun, relaxed day on the water.

While rods, reels, tackle, and lures are all included, bait and fish filleting are not included in the trip price. Bring your own snacks or meals in a soft cooler for easy stowing — Captain Gerry provides a cooler with ice and waters onboard.

Fishing licenses are required for anyone 16 and over, and a one- or two-day license is usually sufficient (no Ocean Enhancement Stamp needed). Licenses can be picked up at most local sporting goods stores, and Captain Gerry will need to see yours before you board. It’s part of his responsibility to ensure everything is in line before departure.

With a CPR-certified, licensed, bonded, and insured captain at the helm, you’re in good hands for a day of fun, safe, and honest fishing along the Southern California coast. Just bring your license, your favorite snacks, and your enthusiasm — Captain Gerry will take care of the rest.
