About Your Trip

Ready to run offshore and chase down some heavy hitters? Captain Matt’s 4 to 8-hour nearshore trips out of Bradenton, FL are built for anglers who want to get beyond the bay and hook into serious fish—without having to run miles out to the deep blue. Just a short ride from the dock, the nearshore reefs, wrecks, and hard-bottom ledges light up with nonstop action and an impressive variety of species.

Whether you're booking a
half-day or going all in with a full 8-hour run, this trip is all about bending rods and big rewards. You’ll be targeting prized table fare and hard-fighting species like Gag and Red Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Flounder, Tripletail, Hogfish, and Cobia, along with high-speed pelagics like Kingfish, Bonito, and Spanish Mackerel. When the bite’s hot, you might even spot a Permit or Great Barracuda lurking around the structure!

Captain Matt runs a fully loaded 27’ Boston Whaler center console, equipped with Simrad GPS and fishfinder electronics, outriggers, a wireless trolling motor, and a live bait well to keep your offerings fresh and feisty. The boat’s layout is perfect for battling big fish, and with just you and one other guest onboard, you’ll have plenty of space and Captain Matt’s full attention throughout the day.

Fishing tactics on this trip include bottom dropping over reef structure, live bait drifting, slow trolling, and jigging—Captain Matt will mix it up based on what’s biting and what you’re looking to reel in. He provides all rods, reels, tackle, bait, lures, cold drinks, and will even clean and fillet your catch back at the dock so you can take home the freshest filets around.

Whether you're an experienced angler or just looking to hook into something big, this nearshore trip offers a perfect blend of action, scenery, and world-class fishing just off the coast of Bradenton.

Hop aboard with Captain Matt and get ready to chase some serious fish—you bring the sunscreen and snacks, he’ll bring the firepower!
