About Your Trip

Have you ever wanted to experience the thrill of inshore flats fishing but don’t want to deal with the headaches of a boat, live bait, or high trip costs? Come spend a day Wading The Bay and enjoy a simple yet unique and highly effective method of targeting Tampa Bay’s inshore species!

A day Wading The Bay typically lasts 5-6 hours from hello to goodbye. We will meet at a predetermined location that is as
close as possible to where you the client will be coming from based on time of year and conditions. I will send over a pin the day before and generally start in the morning. I will provide all necessary gear for the day (rods, reels, boots, lures, etc.) but you are welcome to bring your own as well.

We will typically wade a mangrove shoreline, flat, or sandbar and cover 1-2 miles casting artificial lures using light tackle as we walk. It is possible for us to fish beaches as well depending on time of year and conditions. We will take breaks as needed and may fish multiple locations.

You will need a valid FL fishing license as a guide license doesn’t cover wading. Non-residents can purchase online 3 day for $17. I’m generally a catch and release angler but don’t mind bringing home some fish.

There is nothing quite like the connection you get with the fish and water while wading. Come spend a day Wading The Bay and enjoy all Tampa Bay and the surrounding areas have to offer!

Husband, father, and wade fishing fanatic. Full-time guide. 15+ years experience from NC to FL. Moved to FL full time in 2012 and shortly there after discovered just how many opportunities there are to wade fish here. It is a simple, yet effective way to target inshore species and there is no shortage of accessible shoreline. I specialize in using light tackle and artificial lures in the pursuit of redfish, snook, speckled trout, pompano, and other inshore species in SW FL while wading. From teaching the why, where, when and how to beginners and sharing advanced tactics and techniques with the diehards my goal is to help my clients become better anglers. Primarily a catch and release angler, but I don’t mind the occasional harvest of legal, in-season fish. Come spend a day Wading The Bay and let’s do some learning!

Rapid Fire Guide Q & A

What’s the biggest fish you’ve caught?
Biggest was 150lb+ catfish or maybe sharks. Biggest fish while salt water wading though is 44” snook and 50-60lb tarpon.
If you were cooking for all your friends what would you cook?
Steak tacos
What’s your favorite band?
I like a little bit of everything
What’s your favorite movie?
Body Of Lies
What’s your favorite sports team?
Hokies and Chiefs
What’s your drink of choice?
Good ole Diet Coke 🤷‍♂️
What was your last halloween costume?
Couldn’t tell ya. My son was spider man last year though 💪
What do you want for Christmas this year?
A million dollars 😂
How did you get started guiding?
A friend of mine who is also a guide gave me the “push” to get going. Still can’t believe it’s real sometimes. Dream come true is a massive understatement.
What makes you different from other guides?
I like to make sure my clients leave with something other than fish stories. If I can share just one piece of knowledge that sticks with them and helps them in the future that’s a win for me. I want them to leave our trip having the confidence to go out and get after some fish on their own. I’m not the grumpy guy who shoves the rod in your hand and tells you where to cast. I like to get to know my clients so I can have a better of idea of what they are wanting out of the trip and how they understand and interpret what I’d like to share with them.
