Fish Hawk Charters offer one of the best chances to catch such specimens on an epic offshore adventure with one of the most elite outfits in the St. Pete-Clearwater area! Equipped with all the possible federal permits, credentials, and years of on the water experience, Captain Brian & 1st Mate are here to go above and beyond to do whatever it takes to ensure you have an incredible experience! On this trip you will go further out to visit some of the secret honey holes this 35' contender has marked into its GPS. Your Captain will not only help you limit out on seasonal Snapper and Grouper species, but limit you out on Monster Snapper and Grouper specimens! This means if you catch a smaller Lane Snapper or Red Grouper (or other species that is in season) Your Captain will encourage you to return that one to the water and wait for another big boy! After you've limited out on the bottom fish, your Captain will take you to troll some nearby offshore grass lines or reef structures to solicit a Tuna or Cobia bite as well. No expense is spared, or corner cut when you fish with Ron and his guides. You'll be riding out aboard a beautifully maintained Contender 35ft Tournament boat is equipped with triple 300 horsepower Yamahas and a deep-v that get you to and from the fishing grounds quickly and safely. This vessel’s ride has a reputation in the fishing community as being one of the smoothest and driest on the water. These offshore trips benefit from the Contender’s ability to minimize the amount of time cruising and maximize the amount of time spent fishing. You will depart from the beautiful Tierra Verde Marina Resort in St. Pete. Along side mega yachts and classy sportfishing vessels Ron and his captains will help load your gear aboard the boat and ensure you are comfortable and properly briefed for your day before you depart. Ron suggests that you arrive 30 mins prior to departure time for all trips aboard his boats to ensure your captain has enough time to get all your gear onboard and properly orient you on the day ahead! The vessel is docked at the Tierra Verde Resort Marina but if you are looking to get picked up from a nearby location, Captains are often more than happy to accommodate! All fishing essentials are provided along with a cooler with ice and water. Bring your own lunch and beverages, and a small personal cooler is fine as well. Read More

Seriously Huge Snapper And Grouper - 28'

NEW
28 ft 1 - 6 People $$$

Boca Grande, FL is known as “The Tarpon Capital of the World”, and it certainly lives up to its name as it is one the most renowned Tarpon fishing destinations in the world! You may ask, “What makes tarpon fishing so good?” Well, annually tens of thousands of hungry tarpon migrate to Boca Grande pass and its surrounding areas for their annual spawn. They usually show up in early April, hungry after a long journey and want to fatten up. Now this incredible migration happens all over the Gulf of Mexico and along the Atlantic coast as well, but in most areas, the Tarpon are on the move. Boca Grande is different mainly due to Boca Grande Pass. This small inlet between Gasparilla Island and Cayo Costa is the deepest natural inlet on the Gulf of Mexico, reaching depths of approximately 80 feet. Tens of thousands of tarpon congregate in the area from April through August, feeding day and night, as they prepare to head back offshore for their annual spawning ritual. There are very few other places in the world where this many Tarpon congregate in one place and are actually happily eating! After weeks of feeding, they begin to gather into large breed schools to socialize as they prepare for this spawning ritual. They gather in huge schools that are sometimes 500 fish or more, giving anglers ample opportunities. After the spawn is over in early July most of the fish stay in the area to feed on the abundance of food the surrounding water has to offer. Great Tarpon fishing action will continue thru October offering anglers a chance at battling the “Silver King” for over 6 months out of the year! So head out with Captain Ryan Reigsecker to do battle with these Silver Kings to experience drag yanking power, high flying aerial displays, and a beautiful day out on the water! You'll be fighting these fish on medium heavy - heavy weight rods usually using live bait (live blue crabs, mullet, or pin fish) depending on what the fish are eating that day. Depending on the time of year you will either float the live bait below a bobber through the pass (where thousands of fish wait for bait to be flushed through below) or site fish for big schools cruising the surf and surrounding areas. Captain Ryan will provide all the necessary gear so all you need to bring are your favorite snacks and drinks, some fresh arms, and some friends/family to help you reel in these behemoths! Read More

Bradenton Fishing Overview

Bradenton, located on the west coast of Florida, is a prime destination for anglers seeking a diverse range of fishing opportunities. With access to three major bays, including the Manatee River, Intracoastal Waterway, and the Gulf of Mexico, Bradenton offers a variety of fishing charters to suit any angler's needs.

The shallow waters of the bays are home to Snook, Redfish, and Trout, while Tarpon can be found in Tampa Bay. In deeper waters, Sheepshead, Black Drum, and Jack Crevalle can be caught. Offshore waters offer Gag Grouper, King Mackerel, Triggerfish, Hogfish, and a variety of Snapper, with the potential to catch Amberjack, Sailfish, Tuna, Wahoo, and Mahi Mahi beyond the 60-mile mark. The Manatee River also offers Bass, Bluegill, Catfish, and Gar.

Fishing guides are readily available to cater to any angler's needs, whether it be landing the Tarpon of a lifetime, relaxing with friends, or teaching children how to fish. It is important to note that solo anglers must obtain an appropriate fishing license and be familiar with local regulations and daily limits, while fishing charters provide all necessary licenses and inform anglers of the rules.

Bradenton's year-round fishing opportunities, combined with its stunning beaches, make it a must-visit destination for any angler seeking a diverse range of fishing experiences.

Bradenton Inshore Fishing

One of the most popular ways to fish around Bradenton is to drift the grass flats in Sarasota Bay. Grass flats are a common spot to catch popular inshore species like speckled trout, redfish, and sheepshead. The water here runs 4-10 feet deep and holds a variety of other fish including ladyfish, pompano, jacks, and many more.

Two of the most sought after bucket list fish also reside in the coastal waters of Bradenton. For many anglers snook and tarpon are the target of their trip and Bradenton happens to be a frequent stop on their annual migration around the Gulf. They are powerful fish that can grow into giants that crush lures and peel off line if they decide to bite.

Bradenton Nearshore Fishing

If you want to target fast, active fish head to the bridges, passes, and points in the area. The water movement from changing tides draws in baitfish which attract bluefish and Spanish mackerel. While these fish are still fairly small, they hunt in schools and put up a powerful fight for their size. Getting multiple hook ups is not uncommon and offers non stop action which makes for a great trip.

Bradenton Deep Sea Fishing

Heading further out you can target various species of deep-dwelling fish including grouper, snapper, triggerfish, amberjack, and hogfish. The most common offshore structure in Bradenton is reefs and shipwrecks which support entire ecosystems teeming with life. To Target these fish the best approach is to locate deep structure and then drop down baited lines. Red snapper heats up in the summer and can be found only a short distance from the dock which is unlike most places they are found.
