Get ready to chase down some of the Gulf’s most exciting and sought-after reef species with Captain David on his 6–8 hour state water Red Snapper trip! This adventure takes you just off the Mississippi coast to target the wrecks, reefs, and structure-rich bottom areas where big fish love to hang out.

Red Snapper is the star of the show on this trip, and Captain David knows all the best nearshore spots to get you on the bite. But while Snapper is the primary target, don’t be surprised if your cooler starts filling up with a mixed bag of other hard-fighting reef dwellers. Depending on the season and what’s hot that day, you might also hook into Mangrove Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Lane Snapper, Almaco Jack, King Mackerel, Cobia, or even Amberjack.

You’ll use a mix of bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, and spinning techniques to dial in the bite. Whether you're dropping bait down to the reef or chasing a fast-moving Cobia, Captain David and his first mate are there to coach you through it all. They’ll handle everything from baiting hooks to gaffing fish—so you can focus on the fun and the fight.

Your ride for the day is a 28’ McKee Craft center console, purpose-built for nearshore and reef trips. With room for up to 6 anglers and a full suite of features—GPS, radar, outriggers, fishfinder, live bait wells, a wireless trolling motor, and even an enclosed console with a toilet—it’s designed for both comfort and performance.

All rods, reels, tackle, and bait are included, and your fishing license is covered under the charter. Once you’re back at the dock, Captain David and his mate will clean and bag your catch at no extra charge—making it easy to take your fresh fillets home or to a local restaurant for a post-trip feast.

This trip is perfect for anglers who want to tangle with bigger fish without heading way offshore. Whether you're a seasoned snapper veteran or checking this one off your bucket list, Captain David will work hard to make sure you have a memorable day on the water.

All gear is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 3 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 3 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
