Get ready for an action-packed inshore adventure with Captain Aaron out of Nags Head, North Carolina! Whether you’re chasing a quick morning bite or wrapping up your beach day with some afternoon fishing, Captain Aaron’s half-day trips (departing at 7 AM or 2 PM) are tailor-made for fun, flexibility, and big catches on the beautiful waters of the Outer Banks.

These trips are focused on the inshore flats and the surrounding waters, where you’ll target some of the tastiest fish North Carolina has to offer—Spotted Seatrout and Redfish (also known as Drum). And if conditions allow and the fish are biting, you might head just outside the bridge to hunt down Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish, which love to hammer fast-moving lures and can turn up the excitement in a hurry.

And let’s not forget—anything can happen on the water. One lucky family found that out firsthand when, while trolling for Bluefish on a half-day trip, they hooked into a 93-pound Cobia just 300 yards off the beach! That monster was the biggest Captain Aaron had seen in a decade, and it goes to show—you never know what kind of surprise is waiting just beneath the surface.

You’ll be fishing aboard a beautifully restored 30’ 1990 custom Carolina Alex Willis performance boat, originally built in 1990and upgraded in 2025 With a 350 HP Yamaha engine pushing her at up to 40 knots, she’s both powerful and nimble—perfect for navigating the shallow waters of the Pamlico Sound and beyond. Onboard amenities include a flybridge for sight fishing (or just enjoying the view), GPS, fishfinder, a live bait well, and an ice box to keep your catch fresh.

Captain Aaron is all about making sure "FUN" comes first, and his deep knowledge of the ever-changing waters around Nags Head ensures you're always in the right spot at the right time. Whether you're a seasoned angler or it's your very first cast, Captain Aaron knows how to tailor the trip for your skill level and goals—and he’s more than happy to share insider tips and tricks along the way.

All bait, tackle, and fishing licenses are provided, and Captain Aaron will have your fish cleaned and filleted, by our crew at the end of the trip. All you need to bring is your snacks, drinks, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and a camera—plus a cooler to take home your fresh-caught dinner. If you're fishing in the winter, don’t forget to dress warmly!

All gear is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.
You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 2 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 2 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
