Kite season is here! The water has cooled down as well as the air temp making ideal fishing conditions. Combine this with the prevalent East wind pushing debris and the Pelagic fish close to shore. The Sailfish have started to show up as well as the big smoker Kings. There have been random Dolphin close to shore with the occasional Blackfin Tuna in 200-350'. Bonita Tuna have been plentiful in shallow around 50'. The Cudas are everywhere out to 400' and we have been getting them deep on live baits. We are still getting Goliath Grouper bites although we haven't landed one in two weeks. We fought one for 2 and a half hours the other night only to get cut off on the shipwreck. Big Bull Sharks have been around, we released 4 last week up to 400 pounds. I love this time of year, it's not hot, it's not cold, the Pelagic fish are close to shore and next month the Swordfish bite is gonna get hot. Swordfish can be caught year round but the best time is October through February, I can't wait! We still have a couple openings for the rest of the week and weekend. Let's catch a Monster!

Happy Day Today. Deep sea fishing report for 52′ Hatteras sportfish located at Bahia Mar in Fort Lauderdale.
Sailfishing in Fort Lauderdale is a popular activity, especially during the winter months when sailfish migrate through the area in large numbers. Fort Lauderdale is known as the “Sailfish Capital of the
World” due to the abundance of sailfish in its waters. An angler can experience multiple sailfish when fishing in Fort Lauderdale.
These acrobatic fish are prized for their fighting ability and are released after being caught to preserve the population and due to conservation has been continually growing.
Sailfish are abundant in Fort Lauderdale’s waters January through May. This is when the sailfish migrate through the area in large numbers. Sailfish tent to congregate near underwater structures, reefs, drop-offs, and current edges. We catch sailfish in water depths ranging from 100 to 300feet, where sailfish are known to feed. Of course we catch them in shallower water and out many miles in the very deep water, however the sweet spot is from 100-300. Trolling is an effective method for targeting sailfish using rigged ballyhoo, mullet, or strip baits. Troll these baits behind the boat at varying depths and distances until you get a strike.
Kite fishing and live baits are highly effective and one of the most popular methods. Popular choices include goggle eye, pilchards, blue runners and herring.
Many anglers use teasers which are artificial or natural baits rigged to attract sailfish to the surface.

Captain Andrew. Aka drew. What can i say. From the very start he communicated with us he wanted to make sure we had time to cast net some great bait and he did. Hardest working guide ive ever seen. And im 60 so seen quite a few. Andrew put us on fish all day long. Incredibly knowledgea le about the entire area and fishing area. My wrist and right arm are a bit sore from catching so many fish. The big target today for me was Snook. He put us on them. I lost 2 in slot snook in the mangrove roots probably 28 to 30. But caught at leat 5 in the 24to 27 inch range and another 8 in the 14 to 22 or so. Always busy always catchin and fi ding them. We also caught some big jack cravele big ones. Make your arm hurt. Lol. Plenty of mangrove snapper a couple barracuda and a bull shark. All day. Fun day. Now im tired. Took my wife to just hang out. She loved it. Great fishing trip with this man. Mike and Tami. Jacksonville florida.

We had a great day with Captain Justin. He communicated clearly well in advance, showed up exactly on time, and keeps his boat and gear in great condition. After a brief safety briefing and a few practice shots, we were off. Justin kept it fun the whole day and best of all, put us on the iguanas. We would do it again. Thanks!

Chris is an awesome guide. Real Miami native who knows the bay better than anyone. He really cares about fishing and he is not on a hard "trip ending" time. Chris also suggested some local Miami restaurants and took us there after our trip. A certified damn good guide in my book.
