The bite has been on fire lately. We’ve been putting clients on mangrove snapper, lane snapper, red grouper, gag grouper, and even a few surprise tuna on the nearshore grounds.
The recipe has been simple: shrimp, pinfish, sardines, and greenbacks have all been getting the job done. Every trip has been a little different, and that’s what makes this time of year so much fun—you never know what’s coming over the rail next.

Red Snapper Season is open! We have been killing it on my long range trips. We have been catching Red snapper, mutton snapper, mangrove snapper, red grouper, scamp grouper, gag grouper ,yellowtail snapper, tuna, Mahi mahi and even sailfish. We run 80 miles one way offshore.

    Captain Steven is the real deal. We had a party of 4 and none of us had been on an ocean charter before and we all wanted to catch some sharks. Steven put us on a load of bull sharks, we each caught a shark, the biggest of the 4 sharks being about 5.5ft long. He’s great at instructing and demonstrating everything, he’s great with novice fishermen, and he’s a fun guy to be around. He will put you on some fish.

He is a great guide and very knowledgeable about the area .He knew what our goals were made the day really enjoyable! We got to see dolphins, rays and other wildlife. He set us up to succeed and we were able to catch many fish an kept some. He went above and beyond and helped me catch and land a shark which was the highlight of my day. I highly recommend Captain Andrew if you are a novice he is a very patient teacher and guide. We will hire him the nex time we come to St. Pete!

The captain kept the energy high, helped us stay engaged, and made sure the kids had plenty of chances to be part of the action. We really appreciated how thoughtful and attentive he was throughout the day.     Our scalloping group of 6 consisted of ages 7-72. Luke was very easy going, friendly, safe and knowledgeable. He took my nephew to hunt for scallops, made sure my mom was comfortable in the water, found great spots to go scalloping and fishing and was helpful with tips and advice for next time.     Joe is great. My friend, and I spent 4 hours with him on Sunday morning. I have very little personal experience fishing, and was a little apprehensive. Joe was fantastic in every way. He explained the technique we would use, baited our hooks, and took us to 4 different spots. We caught a lot of fish! I had hoped to catch something we could take home and eat, and we did. A nice sized redfish that Joe cleaned and cut into filets for us. Joe “teaches you” by explaining what he’s seeing, and why we would move to different areas along the way. This made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend booking a tour with Joe.
