Winter time fish are in full swing and yellow jacks are on top of the list. November-March is the best time of year to target this remarkable specie. They are a very fast hard fishing fish that run in large schools around the reef and shallow structures inshore. Yellow jacks are also great to eat making them a high value target. There has been a few Cobia being caught on the shallow wrecks this week along with snappers and barracudas. A live pinfish on a jig head is hard to beat to target those species.

12/19/24 caught black grouper, yellowtail and lane snapper and porgy on and around the reef off of keywest during a 4 hour afternoon trip.

We've been doing a lot of Lobster Diving line, fish hunting, and patch reef fishing. We're coming into our winter fishing. We're looking for wahoo, mackerel, sailfish, cobia, tuna and snappers on the patch reefs

The backcountry basins are still very good with plenty of action and species to capture on artificial lures. Captain Justin has been hiding from the high winds on the leeward side of the island doing some high action bottom fishing. The local wrecks and channels have been producing plenty of great tasting fish including mangrove snapper , yellowtail snapper, mutton snapper ,yellow jacks and a few groupers. Live pilchards and pinfish are still the bait of Choice for the highest odds of productivity. The forecast for the next few days looks promising with calm winds and 75 degree temperatures. Looking...
