Hot, sunny and south wind. The days we wait all year for are here. Inshore or Offshore this is the best time of the year for sport fishing. The bait bite in the backcountry has been stellar with all the species cooperating nicely. Snook, Redfish and juvenile Tarpon have been steady. Just awaiting the big strings of migrating Tarpon to show up out front. Will be any day now. Things have been epic offshore with massive schools of Permit, swarms of Amberjacks and plenty of barracudas to pull on. Were sight fishing all of these species and catching a lot...

The March rush is here and we're fishing hard every day. We're on our transition into spring and good things are happening both inshore and offshore. Water temps have been on the rise which has led to increased activity with numerous different species. The bite with live pilchards has been picking up nicely in the backcountry. Snook, Redfish and jacks have been steady on all of our trips back there. There have some still been some winter time fish hanging around on the cooler mornings which have been nice for those seeking a meal. Sheepshead fishing has been very solid...

The fishing has started to heat up down here like the temperature. There has been some really good redfish action lately although most have been on the smaller size. Shrimp tipped jig heads thrown up around the mangroves and oyster bars has been the go to method for them. The spotted sea trout bite had been great as of late. Shrimp under popping corks seems to be the bait of choice. Anglers have been picking up plenty of ladyfish and snapper as by catches. Bite has been solid the past week inshore for redfish, snook and trout and nearshore has been good up to 9 miles offshore for grouper grunts snapper and sheepshead last week when the wind has allowed us to get out there. Everything on shrimp because everything loves shrimp.

Nearshore fishing has been good with big sheepshead, black drums and more. Offshore on the 10 hr trips, seeing big red grouper and other bottom dwellers. In the quad pic, that's a black drum. The others are pretty much all big red grouper.

Sheepshead said bite has been phenomenal using live shrimp and fiddler crabs pitching on mangroves and oyster bars in 2 to 4 ft of water higher tides have been better than low tides especially midday.

Drew is a great captain. We tried for some larger snook, got a couple big ones on the line, but due to user error didn’t get them in the boat. We also got some snapper, trout, lady, cat and some other small ones. He was at the ramp early with fresh caught bait. He shared stores and we made good friends with him before we left.
