Fishing has been hot. The big ones are starting to move up. Makes for a fun day fishing that's for sure. My clients landed 4 trout over 20". One was a beautiful male. I sure do love this winter time fishing!!! Pink eggs with a hairs ear soft hackle behind it has been king so far!!! Midges has also been hot.

Winter time is coming here and it will not be long. They have taken the stop logs out to drop the river down. That's good news because it will not be long before the big girls will be moving up river to spawn. I do love big fish. Now gang you have to think small when it comes to flies. It's the only thing moving in the river this time of year is small flies. We have been picking them up on size 20 zebra midge and size 18 soft hackle flies.

Water temps running 58-60 degrees. Spawning has started somewhat with a couple of female fish with eggs. Trout keying on small sulfur emergers, midges which are in abundance, blue wing olives and caddis. Dry fly action at times. Best Flies Rubber Leg jiggy buggers and midge emergers.

Sriper fishing has been excellent on Lake Texoma. The birds are working over the schools of Stripers that are feeding on shad at the surface. The fish that are surfacing have been on the small side, but we are catching the larger stripers on live bait about 30 feet below the surfacing fish. We are also catching fish on white Bomber slabs. Drop the slab to bottom and crank it fast 5 turns at a time with a 1 second pause between the 5 handle turns. Stripers will usually hit during the pause. Daytime temps have been in the high...

Temperatures are warmer than normal so trout are still somewhat in Summer mode. Majority of hatch are midges and sulfur. Some blue wing olive and caddis. Nymphing works best on short aggressive strips. Midge and sulfur dry flies dominate when fish are rising to feed.

We've been out in west Texas chasing cranes. Last weekend was the opener. And we put a beating on them. Everyday we're seeing more cranes show up. Wednesday we got our first flock of geese in. We open for geese this weekend and I've got a feeling this is going to be one of the goosiest season in along time.

Cooler night temperatures mean insect hatches are more active especially early mornings. Blue wing olive nymphs and emergers are working very well by themselves in slower water, dropped under a weighted woolybugger in fast water. Midges are still active early. Some afternoons are fishing well but not yet enough activity to warrant any afternoon or full day trips just yet. Bite is still somewhat soft so hook set on the slightest twitch is very important

Had a great time on the water catching some fish today. Condition's weren't the best but fishing was fun. Captain Michael definitely knows the lake and can put you on the fish.
Amazing experience, guide was extremely experienced and a great dude, had us on fish almost immediately and kept them coming throughout, captain experiences also made the booking easy and were extremely helpful with any questions we had
