I do love winter time fishing, all of the big ones bite this time of year. The river is normally less crowded and more peaceful for everyone. It helps when you manage to land one of these big girls!!!

Fishing has been fabulous this week. Caddis, midges, March Browns, blue wing olives when it's cloudy, egg patterns, and worm patterns. All have been productive this week.

Fishing last week was hot. We caught a lot of trout many in the 20's. This week is much slower. Numbers are down for fish, however we are still catching them. Water temps is down to 39 degrees this morning. I'm sure the lower temperature has been making the fish more lethargic. The water has been slightly off color as well. Catch's have been happening later in the day from normal hours. It's when the water temperature goes up a couple of degrees that we have been more successful. Early morning bite is rubber leg jiggy buggers (crawfish-big nymph) pattern on dead drift then on strip when sun hits the water. Size 22 midge emergers as a trailer fly has been the ticket during the last several days.

The Stripers are preparing for the spring spawn, so they are fattening up for the run. We are looking for birds circling over large schools of Stripers that are feeding on shad they have pushed to the surface. The bite has been aggressive on both live bait and artificial white slabs. Lake Texoma has the most generous limit in the state of 10 fish per person. Give us a call and reserve your date to experience the fishing at Lake Texoma; the Striper capital of the world!

Fishing has been on fire. Caught several in the 20's. The hit fly has been one that I tied up many year's ago. I didn't know what to call it, so I called it KB softhackle. It's my version of a March Brown softhackle and it's on fire. Very easy to fish. Cast it about 45 to 55 degrees down stream and let it swing into the fish. Takes will be hard and fast but you have to set the hook before they spit it out.

Had a great time on the water catching some fish today. Condition's weren't the best but fishing was fun. Captain Michael definitely knows the lake and can put you on the fish.
Amazing experience, guide was extremely experienced and a great dude, had us on fish almost immediately and kept them coming throughout, captain experiences also made the booking easy and were extremely helpful with any questions we had
