It's been rough this week but I've been shuffling trips and running what I can. Bookings are slowing down this month after a fire June/July. Fishing is great mahis have been all over had a sailfish hooked 2 weeks ago up in close 1/2 mile off beach and have heard of quite of few being caught. Sept 1 - 15 gag groupers will be open so those weekend days red snappers and Gags are open at same time. Recipe for banner trips

The wind is stIll howling. My crew from Chicago caught a bunch of speckled trout. Only got a couple keepers in the boat and lost a couple really nice ones. It looks like the Trout bite is coming in now. The water temp is up to 70 so the fish are getting more active.

Fishing has been great. Been catching redfish and big numbers of Spanish mackeral in the bay. In the gulf, lots of snappers groupers amberajcks and sharks

Captain Mike: South Padre Fishing Report. The bay fishing is on right now and should only get better throughout the next month. The shrimp and baitfish are migrating into our bay system and the fish are actively hunting them. The speckled trout and redfish are on the move looking for easy meals. This spring fishing has started off to a good start. Water temperatures range from the high 50s to the low 70s depending on the weather week to week. Once water temperatures stabilize the bite should be more consistent. Spanish mackerel have been found inshore and outside of the pass; easily targeted on a four hour trip trolling and using live bait, incoming tides seem to be producing greater numbers of Spanish mackerel.
