This spring fishing has started off to a good start. Water temperatures range from the high 50s to the low 70s depending on the weather week to week. Once water temperatures stabilize the bite should be more consistent. Spanish mackerel have been found inshore and outside of the pass; easily targeted on a four hour trip trolling and using live bait, incoming tides seem to be producing greater numbers of Spanish mackerel. Inshore- Redfish bite is picking up tremendously catching them on live bait near the Destin Pass area and deep water docks. Mangrove snapper's have been an easy target along the Destin jetties and bridges. Spanish mackerel and blue fish are still in the bay best method trolling for them.
