Redfish are the targeted species currently in Ponce inlet. With Snook and occasional tarpon following. The biggest issue has been weather, with high winds, rough seas and high water it gets difficult to get out at times. The current forecast is really positive and there should be no issues getting out for these bruiser.

With summer coming to an end and high waters right now we are finding nice reds snook and some trout along the mangrove lines. As we dive into fall/ winter we will be targeting reds, black drum, and other species. Call now and get to experience Mosquito Lagoon and the beauty she is and catch some nice fish, and hang out this cool captain!

The Trout Bite is as HOT as the Temperature! We went out early to avoid as much heat as possible. We watch the sun come up and the bait shower across the water in front of us. No sooner did the sunlight hit the water and the first trout hit the deck! We reeled in some small ones and a couple of slot sized ones and decided to move a little. I don’t know if the dolphins were leading or following but everywhere we found good fish they seemed to find us! We were almost ready to come in when...

We were almost ready to come in when Josh got a runaway hit and a 27” Snook exploded out of the water and it was a sight to see! That Snook put up a good fight but it ended way too soon. It was a good way to end the day!

Mid May is producing quality fishing for the Palm Beaches. Stellar conditions, light winds lots of sun shine and clean water.
Snook are on the move! Sight casting snook along docks and mangrove shorelines using live bait and DOA C.A.L. Curls tails get the drag screaming. Deep cuts and beaches are starting to hold fish as well.
Tarpon fishing is great in back country and in the intercostal. Live baiting tarpon best bet, but the DOA Terror Eyz also great bait to get the bite. Both sides of the tides are producing fish.
Great mix bag of species being caught...

Great mix bag of species being caught
near structures and holes. Jacks are very abundant along with mackerel, snapper, ladyfish, croakers and triple tail. Live baits and DOA C.A.L. Curl Tails get the strike.
Well that is the fishing report for the past week, hope you all enjoyed. Remember you can’t catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight Lines!

Mosquito Lagoon has continued to produce nice Reds and some Slob Trout. We began night fishing the causeways last week and the fish were on fire. While we were able to land a few we were broken off by more than we landed. The inlet area is producing slot size Reds as well as some nice Bulls.

As April comes to an end, the weather is hot and the fishing is too. Mild winds, clean water, and lots of bait are a recipe for successful fishing.
Tarpon are always on the radar for anglers, silver kings are abundant around mangrove shorelines and drop offs. Live boats free lined and Rapala twitch baits entice strikes. Moving water is the key to happy tarpon and happy anglers with a bent rod.
Snook fans, the bite is getting better each weeks as water temps warm up and baits schools start migrating in. Natural structures, docks and sea walls are all...

While targeting snook and tarpon, anglers are catching many other species: Jacks, ladyfish, moonfish, snapper and many others. The highlight the past week as has been catching triple tail a surprise flounder.

We are still catching good numbers of slot to over slot redfish on the flats along with trout over 20" and numbers of smaller trout in deeper water. The reds on the flats are beginning to transition into their summer patterns. The schools are breaking up and instead of a few shots at 50 fish we can get 20+ shots at singles. This can mean more technical presentations but if it were easy it wouldn't be worth doing! Although, with more intermediate anglers, pitching live mullet to laid up and cruising redfish and trout is very effective. The snook fishing...

Although, with more intermediate anglers, pitching live mullet to laid up and cruising redfish and trout is very effective. The snook fishing is beginning to heat up; on the night trips we are getting good numbers in the dock lights and starting to catch some tarpon in the 20-40 lb. class. Throughout the month we will be seeing more snook on the flats. By the end of May, tarpon season will be in full effect for mosquito lagoon and new Smyrna beach. Dates are already filling up fast so make sure to reserve your dates now to tangle with the silver king this summer or sight fishing the flats of mosquito lagoon.

Todd brought us to the spot and we started catching right away. Got enough to feed 6 the next day. He is always baiting the hook or doing something for us. I would love to go with him again. David Doyle

The four of us had a great time fishing with Captain Todd! We did a quick morning trip and it was just enough for all of us to catch a handful of fish. Todd was very knowledgeable and a great guide. Would definitely go again!

Todd was great! Very informative regarding species of fish being caught. He cleaned our fish we kept as well. It was awesome being able to eat fresh catch same day! We will definitely make this an annual event during our beach trip from now on.
