Winter fishing continues to be strong. The slot redfish continue to be active and the sheepshead bite has picked up. While the total fish counts are less than summer, the caught fish are larger and frequently keeper size.

Inshore: Flounder are being found around inlets, sandy cuts, docks, bridge pilings, and along channel edges. Mud minnows or finger mullet on a jighead or Carolina rig are producing best. Work the bait slowly along the bottom with short hops and pauses. Sheepshead and black drum are holding tight to structure, especially piers, bridges, rock jetties, and barnacle-covered docks. Offshore: Snapper and grouper (season-dependent) are stacked on structure such as natural bottom, ledges, and wrecks. Live pinfish, vermilion, squid strips, and cut bait are all effective—be mindful of current and use enough weight to stay on bottom. Pelagics like mahi,...

Pelagics like mahi, wahoo, and tuna (season-dependent) are showing along rips, temperature breaks, weed lines, and color changes. Rigged ballyhoo and skirted trolling lures are working well; if fish are up, topwater action can be hot. Troll the edges and circle back to thoroughly work any floating debris.

Bottom fishing has been hot for Nov & Dec .
We have a good consistent black fin run every fall to spring or so here in the panhandle. For the last 5 or 6 years, anyway.
This year, some 100-150# yellowfins came in with the blackfins, 2 were landed on Pensacola pier. About 10 or so were hooked on the pier, fought for 3 to 5 hours on spinning gear, and lost at the pier.

We had a good run on back snapper along with the red snapper. Out of Pensacola pass lots of large vermillion snapper. Good catches of Amber jacks for a fun fight and release.

Fishing has been pretty good for big trout not a lot of fish but large ones - last 6 trips we have released 16 speckled trout between 20-28.5" . A few flounder here and there and the redfish have been hit and miss.

Great experience for myself and my two boys. They are ages 11 and 14, and he was in tune with making sure they had a great experience. I love his old school approach and knowledge of the waters. He made sure we came back with a limit and that is well appreciated. Will definitely book another trip when in the area!

This was an amazing experience and one that we definitely recommend. Ronnie made our trip so easy and relaxing, we had a great time getting to know him and learning from him. He is extremely knowledgeable, personable and easy going. He knew exactly where to go to catch a lot of fish and he made every part of our experience memorable. We highly recommend Ronnie and look forward to fishing with him again soon!

we had such a wonderful time on our charter. Jordan our guide was so patient with our group and everyone had a memorable experience. We really appreciate the crew actively seeking places to maximize our chances to catch fish. And we came away with a few keepers. The sign up was very convenient and I appreciated Dale reaching out to answer any questions we had before the charter.

I have to admit, I picked this trip “out of a hat,”so to speak, but I’m so glad I did. Josh was not only knowledgeable, but very patient and friendly.. the best guides are the ones that teach and the best fisherman are the ones that listen

Capt Ron was great. He got us right on some Speckled trout. We hit our limit pretty quick. After that he took us out to the rigs and got us on Snapper and a real nice Red Drum. Overall great trip and Capt Ron has good tastes in music. Would recommend!
