About Your Trip

Our 4, 5, or 6 hour offshore fishing charters in state of Alabama and/or Florida waters feature an exciting yet conservative offshore fishing experience within nine miles of the beach. These private offshore fishing charters are great for beginners or those who do not with to be a long way from shore. The offshore charters in state of AL and FL waters will take you up to nine nautical miles offshore but not typically completely out of sight of land. Our state waters offshore fishing charters are an excellent choice for adults and vacationing families with kids around fourteen years of age and older or who fish from a boat regularly.

Our family friendly Florida and Alabama offshore state waters charters offered year around our private offshore fishing charters often include both trolling and bottom fishing for a variety of species. Our fishing locations and methods of fishing vary greatly based on the time of year, what's biting, and composition of the group aboard.

Our Orange Beach offshore fishing charters are taken on our versatile 25 foot Sea Hunt which begin with an exciting ride offshore looking for Sea Turtles, Dolphins, and schools of feeding fish. If we see fish on the surface that we are targeting we often take a detour and cast or troll through the schooling fish. If we do not see anything significant enough to alter our course on the way out we continue our run towards our reef fishing spots. Once we reach our desired fishing location we will share with your crew the fun and excitement of bottom fishing. We often focus mostly on the species that are currently in season for harvest but we also catch other amazing offshore fish in the process.

Spring offshore fishing can be very rewarding. Several species including Gray Triggerfish and Red Snapper often bite well in March and April. While these species are not typically legal for harvest in the spring, the are very fun to catch, photograph, and release. If keeping a few fish for dinner is part of your goal we can give it a try by focusing on the small but tasty Vermilion Snapper. Vermilion Snapper can sometimes be found in state waters in the spring along with Migratory Pelagic species such as Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, and the rare but amazing Cobia. Mackerel are often caught trolling, casting jigs, and free lining live shrimp. Cobia fishing often requires a lot of patience and luck but if you are fortunate enough to catch one you will surely agree it is worth the lengthy pursuit. Unique, delicious, and incredibly strong, the Cobia is the top prize in springtime offshore fishing.

Summer and fall marks the beginning of our busiest fishing Orange Beach offshore fishing season of the year. It also ushers in the harvest season for ones of the most popular fish along the northern Gulf of Mexico, the Red Snapper. Red Snapper season traditionally open for harvest in early June in State of Alabama waters are most commonly only open on weekends only. While our top pursuit is Red Snapper we also often catch other fish species such as Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Triggerfish, Vermilion Snapper, and even sharks.

Rapid Fire Guide Q & A

What’s the biggest fish you’ve caught?
Yellow fin tuna
If you were cooking for all your friends what would you cook?
I have a ton of fish options, but my favorite is baked mangrove snapper with bell peppers and onions
What’s your favorite band?
I have an eclectic music taste and have a long list of favorites (which also means I'm good with whatever music people want to listen to on the boat)
What’s your favorite movie?
The Guardian ... great story of heroes on the water
What’s your favorite sports team?
Alabama Crimson Tide (though recently that has become harder)
What’s your drink of choice?
Water - I'm out on the water a lot so lots of hydration is a daily activity for me.
What was your last halloween costume?
Cowboy
What do you want for Christmas this year?
A new truck (though still waiting on Santa for that one)
How did you get started guiding?
I loved fishing and decided to make it my career. I've been blessed with 20+ years on the water - it's given me a ton of knowledge but the beauty of salt water fishing is that there is always something new to learn.
What makes you different from other guides?
Deep experience and overall personality. 20+ years in these waters has given me vast knowledge of all the fishing spot, species behaviors, and water considerations to maximize the experience on every charter. My personality is also very flexible, so I can go out with experienced anglers and target whatever they want, or can flip on the next charter with a boat of kids and patiently teach them all the basics of fishing. Every charter is different which keeps it interesting!
