Galveston Fishing Reports (September 2024)

Morning and full-day trips will typically depart at sunrise (6:00 am summer and 7:00 am winter). If schedule allows we can adjust departure times to accommodate your requests. Evening departure times will depend on the time of year. Consumption of alcoholic beverages is allowed in moderation. However, if the consumption of alcohol becomes a safety issue, we reserve the right to terminate your trip early without a refund. You must always follow the captain’s instructions while on board. Our most important concern is your safety and the safety of everyone on board. You will be required to sign a Waiver and Release of Liability Agreement prior to boarding. You can expect to set the hook on drag-yanking Jacks, delicious Cobia, and a bunch of Mackerel species! You might even get a bite from a Mahi Mahi or a Shark! You'll be fishing aboard Captain Cheryl’s beautiful 26’ Century center console. The twin 200HP Mercury engines will power you smoothly through the offshore chop, so you can enjoy a comfortable experience. Captain Mike has over 35 years of experience fishing the Texas coast and is known for reelin’ in some trophy-sized fish! On these 6-hour (half-day) and 8-hour (full-day) adventures, you can expect to target Flounder, Redfish, Sheepshead, and Speckled Trout. For these trips, Captain Mike uses his 24’ Bay Boat which can accommodate 4 anglers and has enough space for you and your entire group to fish all at once. This will be a 5 hour trip from dock to dock. We will be targeting trout, redfish, black drum and sheapshead. We will be using popping cork and shrimp on spinning gear. These productive waters are home to the “Texas Big Three” (Redfish, Flounder, and Speckled Trout), Amberjack, Sheepshead, Black Drum, and many more species. On this 9-hour action-packed adventure, Captain David will help you reel ‘em all in. Captain David conducts these trips using his 24’ Shallow Sport center console which can accommodate up to 4 anglers. This vessel is meant for those shallow hotspots and makes for a smooth ride to and from your destination. When fishing with Captain David, you’ll be fishing light tackle gear as you drift the bays with popping corks or site fish the shallows for cruising fish. Captain David can also accommodate fly fishing if you'd like to bring your own gear. Your captain will provide all rods, reels, tackle, and lures. He’ll also provide water, although feel free to bring your drinks. On these trips he’ll even provide a “captain’s lunch” for you and your group!
