Last few trips have been mostly catch and release trips. Did not take a lot of pictures. Most days we are finding a goo bite artificial lures from the boat. Some days it takes time for the bite to materialize. Recent weather patterns are indicating an early spring. Water temperature have already reached mid 70 degrees. The shad spawn has already begun. So we will be using smaller baits to get our bites for the next 30days or so. Popping cork and shrimp will also become an effective method for catching fish.

Sheepshead season in full swing! Catching these "bay snappers" mostly on live shrimp and as we get to late February into March and April these fish will be bigger and even more plentiful

The backwater is holding lots of redfish, some trout and some large sheepsheads. We’re using live shrimp fishing 4 to 6 feet deep along rocks. Spring Break is right around the corner, it’s time to get your kids outdoors!

The weather is a big factor the last few weeks, to windy, to much run off from rain. Now the tornado and high winds slow fishing down. I did go one day for redfish in the back water using live bait. Best bet is to fish the North Galveston Jetties fishing by the boat cut using live bait. This time of the year is always slow. But it is time to book for Spring Break. It was a windy day but Jonathan took us right to a honey-hole out of the wind. The rods and reels were ready to go and easy to use. We caught fish all day long and came home with a nice haul which Jonathan cleaned and bagged for us. He even directed us to a local restaurant that cooked up a few of our fresh filets for dinner. It was a great day from beginning to end!
