The Gulf of Mexico can be a challenge that we as a team welcome the opportunity w/day to day results vary as a shallow warm body water. Ideally, a 10-12 hr offshore fishing 50-70-90 miles out can increase the odds yet .... This approach may also hit or miss. Our team's do their best every day to provide guests full efforts, positive attitude & attentive honorable respect to max out and size up the Pelagic Species's. Since fishing is a lot like dating. It’s all about capitalizing on opportunity of the unknown. One of the first things that every fisherman learns is that fish have their own agenda which causes them to move over time from one place to another. This change can be seasonal, daily, caused by wind, changing water temperature, changing water clarity, the movement of bait they feed on, fishing techniques, or the instinct to spawn. We study these variables, unlike others & apply Master Licensed Angler skills w/technique.

Our trip to Key West to end the hot Florida summer was as advertised this year's experience was graced with beautiful weather conditions light winds in Clear waters is what Key West dreams are made of .we really had some excellent trips offshore with our main focus being on the mahi mahi. Snapper fishing on the reef was outstanding, especially around the full a new moon. The lobster season in Key West has always been very good and this year was no different. We were able to get limit catches on numerous trips. We love to play with the tarpon while we are down there as well. They have a great tarpon, fish or a year-round. I hope you can join us next year from late July through August, so tight lines until next time Captain Phil

Well it's the end of September and fishing has been outstanding. There is a variety of species still being caught offshore. Snappers, triggerfish, Mackeral, and Mahi are still actively chasing baits. Stopping to sabiki for live sardines and cigar minnows has been effective for targeting those offshore species. We can expect as the waters continue to cool down to see a slower bite as those big fish move further out. Therefore, bouncing around from spot to spot seems to be the key to pick up those big ones still lurking around. Inshore, the mangrove snapper and sharks are still plentiful on the bridges in the bays and any structure you can find. The big bull reds are starting to push inshore and we look forward to targeting those big schools as we progress into October and November. There is still plenty of fish to be caught so don't put up those rods yet and let's get out there for some great fall saltwater action.

Mahi has been good anywhere from 500 to 1000 ft off key largo. Fish have been 15 to 20 lbs with plenty of schoolies in the mix. Trolling feathers pink and blue tipped with bonita strips. Small blackfin on tuna flies trolled behind the spread.

The Tuna Fishing was slow the past two weeks... However the fishing for Mahi- Mahi more than made up for it... On our last trip we boated 18 Mahi's releasing several small rats. The Tuna fishing should pick up after these Hurricanes pass us buy. These storms churn up the ocean, and the Tuna go off their normal feeding cycle. Once everything settles down the Tuna will go back on the Feed !
