Fishing has been great. We've been using love shrimp, soft plastics and corky's. We've been focusing on drains and edges of flats adjacent to deeper water.

After the record Christmas cold front the water here dropped over 10 degrees in a couple of days. But, the Red Tide dissipated and left cleaner water. The local reefs(and hard bottom areas withing a couple miles) have been best. Lots of Key West Grunts, along with a steady sheepshead bite and occasional Redfish, Flounder and other stuff. The Sheepshead bite should only get better and the Flounder normally start going off as well. Should be a decent start to 2023 in terms of nearshore fishing over here out of Madeira Beach.

e have had some cold mornings in Sarasota Florida and the water is cold! We ended the year with water temperatures in the 50's in some places. With these cold water temperatures our customers enjoyed targeting Sheepshead, Snappers and Grunts on our nearshore reefs. On our warmer days we focused on fishing the docks and rocks in areas that the water was warmer in Sarasota Bay and were able to find luck targeting Redfish and Snook! We also have found a few Pompano as well as schools of big Jack Crevalle in our back country creeks.

String stretching!!! Man we are whacking them sheepshead!!! That Biloxi bay fishing aboard the whipasnapa whipping sheeps is fun yeah!!! Stretched strings bent rods & drag screaming action for sure!!! Couple days was EVERY cast!!! The Biloxi’s back bay is one of the fishiest places along the gulf coast for sure!!! That fresh pinched dead shrimp dropped w/ a lil weight on a barnacle incrusted structure has been the ticket!!! It’s been typical winter fishing lately the 5 fish that are most common to our water is speckled trout, flounder, black drum, red drum & sheepshead very few if any trash fish. So when the thump thumps it’s usually a good fish!!! You’ll come get you some!! Have a blessed and merry Christmas and new year!!

It has been on absolutely fire down here in Venice Louisiana. The trout and reds are stacked up in the passes. Everyone who has fished here for the last month and a half can’t believe how great the fishing is.

Fishing report from Ryan W. in Yscloskey, Louisiana Book a trip with Captain Ryan here.

Fishing down in Shell Beach, Louisiana has been pretty good considering the unstable weather we’ve had. When it got cold for a few weeks the fish started moving close and stacking up, making it easy once you found the fish. Once it warmed up, they spread back out, and we had to go into our early fall patterns to find fish with any consistency. We still have live bait at the docks, so we still use it but it’s not necessarily needed. Throwing DOA shrimp under a cork or on the bottom has been great for us. Fish are scattered out some but once the temps drop back down this week, they will gather back up for an exciting and action-packed trip you won’t soon forget.
