Fishing report from Joey V. in Frisco, North Carolina

Red drum fishing has been very good sight casting and cut bait fishing for them. The trout are starting to really pick up as the wintering months get coming on casting jigs preferably z-mans 3 inch minno Z's have been working very good. A long with that the sheepshead fishing is picking up around the structures around the inlet and outside the inlet in the ocean.

Drum have been thick on scattered shell, throwing live shrimp under a cork in Corpus Christi has been the key. As well wading with artificial lures has been producing many trout.

After The Big Rains!!!! Inshore bite was bad just for a couple of days after the end of August monsoonal rains.... Had a few catches of blue cats and bass down the bay.... The bite and the salt water bounced back very quick tho and it’s been strong since..actually we’ve had no rain since that last week of August!!! The water is nice and salty now!! Sheepsheads showed up a lil early when the salt water came back. Some biggins too!!!! A large nice variety of fish-flounder, speckle trout, black and red drum etc...Still a lot of different fish in the bays. Out on the 4 hour fishing trips we offer its a catch a minute!! Fast action for sure!

Great week. September fishing is notorious for being challenging. During the peak of summer the water temperature is at its hottest, lately I have been seeing water temps around 84. Boat traffic is at an all time high, especially on weekends which can also be detrimental to the bite. Hot water & boat traffic are not appealing to trout, they would prefer cooler temps. Due to this then move out deep seeking cooler water. While this may all sound like doom and gloom, fear not! Redfish, Black Drum, Sheephead, Flounder, & Catfish... They still have to eat!

Catching continues to be good on West Galveston Bay. Have seen several trout up to 6 lbs. Redfish have been dominating our box. Live shrimp seems to be producing better than croaker as of late. Milder temps have set in, making for a more enjoyable trip. Light winds have brought clear water to the surf.

Fishing in Galveston bay has been good. Lots of trout being caught in the deeper water over shell and near the many gas wells. Best bite is on live shrimp. Fish are also on shallow reefs in Trinity bay. A mix of black drum, speckled trout and the occasional slot redfish. Bull reds are beginning to school in the open water. Water clarity is good.

West Galveston bay and east Galveston bay have been producing well. Low winds have made catching easy, and has allowed for access to many new areas and fish.

September is the month to remember. Sheepshead, flounder, and trout are gonna be looking to feed now that water temp is slowly dropping. Always look for moving water and depth with structure around. I personally go during the low tide and look for areas that has both and come back during the high tide and set up for the stopping tide. Usually i do the best the first three hours of the dropping tide. I've found that smaller baits do well such as mud minnows and finger mullet. September usually has slot if rain so if the water looks cloudy from sunshine the run off use finger mullet. Finger mullet can be seen easier than mud minnows, they are white and not dark like the mud minnows. With using shrimp, one also noticed if you use large shrimp that they too can be seen easier and it can keep the trash fish away due to the size but not always. Popping corks will be starting their way back into my tackle box as well. Along with artificial baits such as the Vudu shrimp. Con't forget your Pro Cure and please don't over do the amount needed. It can and will ruin not only the color but also the dexterity of the bait.

Fishing report from Cole G. in Biloxi, Mississippi

Despite the rain, we've been staying busy on the water. We caught many snapper this season and now looking forward to reeling in some red drum, triple tail, and sheep heads.

Hello fans, thanks for stopping by! This summer season we were blessed to have fished (again) out of New Orleans in June and July. Tt was truly epic- our best season yet. Please stay tuned as we plan to do it again next summer! Also below, please see some of the highlight photos. As for local conditions. Friends it is HOT.. For that reason I've recently added a shade area to the boat, all guests can use it when the heat gets to you. Also, we are choosing to start just a bit earlier so that we can take advantage of the coolest part of the day 6:30- 12 noon. I also strongly recommend bringing more hydrating drinks like Gatorade or other, as always water is provided. As for the bite, it is good! It turns on when it wants to...sometimes early other times late in day, it mainly depends on tides and water movement! When you book, we will speak on the phone just a few days prior to our trip, on that call I will advise when it will be best! Currently, we are finding a good Snapper (Mangrove/ Gray) bite along with plentiful small Snook. Trout have gone missing, Tripletail are spotty and our favorite- Redfish are hitting our decks on a somewhat regular basis.
